waldo farmers & flea market

The flea market portion is filled with mostly new stuff sort of like the things you'd find at a dollar store. The antique mall portion has really great items from different vendors. Loads of true vintage things and literally something for all tastes. Worth the stop only for the antique mall next to the flea market.

Although it was a sunny day but a little cold there weren't that many people there which kind of gave you an eagles view of everything. Some shacks have been there it seems for ever and the signs telling you to enter at your own risk should be taken under advisement. There are a view good permanent shops (i.e. knife shop, tomeys tools, and a trailer shop to mention a few). You can find something if you look hard enough and I did find a bargain.(a german crystal beer mug for 5$). All in all its interesting to see what people try to sell which in my opinion is even to bad for the land fill. Also visited the Antique Mall there, staff very unfriendly, selection in somewhat organized chaos and it certainly put a new definition on "antique" which is more like early basement and late attic. I will probably go again sometime, just to remind myself why I don't go.

There were some very cool and unique booths along with shacks that appear to have stood there for decades sometimes challenging even the most generous view of 'treasures'. The antique store seemed to have a nicer selection but the staff were so unfriendly and unwelcoming we didn't stay.

I make the 20 minutes trek from Gainesville to Waldo several times a year, especially during the holidays, because there's honestly no better flea market in all of central Florida than Waldo's very own!It's honestly a place of its own. The boiled peanuts and slushies are delicious, and you'll definitely find everything you need. I went in needed a ceramic chicken, dog harness, hair bands, and unique christmas gifts for all of my friends and family, and came out with all of that plus more! Trust me, if you can't find it here, you can't find it anywhere.
