The water park is not bad, but it is very over priced and for its size makes it not worth it. I have been to bigger water parks that cost half the price, but it is Disney. Interesting wave pool with some good slides.
We attended on a Friday in mid-March with 28C/82F weather. Although signs were up claiming wait times of 10 minutes or more most of the slides were either walk through or moved the line along in five minutes or less. The exception being the crusher gusher which was a legitimate 20 minute wait but in the end the ride really was worth it. There is something for everyone at this park whether you're an adrenaline jumkie or just prefer a liesurly float trip around the park on a tube. The kids really enjoyed the wave pool "beach" which featured a "rogue wave" approximately every 2 minutes. If you are so inclined to swim with sharks there is a small saltwater reef where you can snorkel with sharks stingrays and sea creatures of that nature (all of which are safe according to a crewmember), which isbincluded in the price of admission. There were plenty of deck chairs available throughout the resort so that you could set up a home base/meeting place. You can rent a locker for $7 which is large enough to hold a standard size day pack or for $13 you can apparently get one twice that size.If you forget to bring a bathing suit, towel sunscreen or anything else there is a gift shop on site that sells anything you could need for a day at the beach. The prices seemed to be in line with gift shops or convenience stores anywhere else. There are a number of snack bars on site which have food which is comperable in price variety and portion size to what you find in any of the Disney resort hotels. No surprises there. The park also had excellent free wifi service with strong signal everywhere on site.Of I were to find one negative point it would be that I found that walking around all day on that concrete was really hard on my feet. No one else in my group had this complaint however, and even at that flip flops or water slippers would solve the problem easily enough. Overall I definitely recommend the Disney Typhoon Lagoon Water Park if you are in Orlando as a place to take the whole family for a change of pace from the other theme parks.
Great day out. Lazy river is excellent. Plenty of space for kids to run around in. All safe as well. Lots sunbeds
It doesn't feel like you are inland at Disney. Fab fun day out for those ranging in our party from 2 to 60. We also had a baby with us and managed to find enough shade. Arrived at 9.40 to a lovely empty place. Opens at 10 am. Weather perfect hazy sun. Rides brilliant. Fab day for all
We went at the beginning of March and it was a hot day, we got there not long after it opened at 10am, but by the time my hubby had pushed me in my wheelchair there were no umbrellas left for shelter. There was very few of the large straw ones and less of the "patio" type ones. All of which had towels or other stuff on the loungers under them and no one sitting underneath all day. This didn't please my hubby as he doesn't do the sun at the best of times. So the great lazy river and the big swim area with wave machine are spoilt by not enough umbrellas or shade around for adults and kids to shelter from on very hot days.
Been Going to Disney for years but not to the water parks. However,in the future this will be my number one stop.Went with my 10 year old son and we had a blast .Water was warm. Can bring your own towel or rent one.Can rent large or small lockers and lots of chairs.Typhoon lagoon itself is great. The lazy river was my favorite and the water slides were both fast and slow depending on what you like.My son states the best French fries that he has ever had.Easy to get in and out of.
I love this place. The weather was sunny and 22*c. It was just warm enough to spend the day here. My husband and teenagers enjoyed the slides and wave pool (but beware you can scratch yourselves on the bottom of pool, which is not smooth) bring plasters?I am a wheelchair user. My husband helped me into the rubber ring on the lazy river and I floated around for an hour or so. Very relaxing and you don't have to get out once you have been round once. You can stay on it all day if you want!If weather had been better the rest of the week we'd have gone back. Free parking. The path going round the beach is wheelchair friendly. We sat at the back of the beach by the path so we didn't have to push wheelchair over the sand. Lots of beach chairs and sun beds.
There were a couple things that bothered me this time I visited Typhoon Lagoon. 1. Towel rental - $2.00 each 2. High school girls wearing thongsIt has been quite a few years since I visited. The last time I visited I was with my children but this time I was with my daughter, son-in-law and my grandchildren. We did not bring towels with us because the last time I came there were towels available for use. Not any more - $2.00 to rent a bath size towel. (Admission should include towels.)In the brochure it states that thongs are not allowed. That's not true! A couple of large groups of girls decided to claim chairs near where we were. Many of the girls were wearing skimpy thong bathing suit bottoms. I didn't see anyone tell them to cover up. Now for the positives: The park is very big and there's plenty to do. The wave pool is fun and so is the relaxing lazy river. My grandchildren enjoyed the many different slides and are still talking about swimming with the sharks. They loved that!I would recommend getting there when the park opens to avoid waiting in lines. Remember to bring towels and try to find a place to sit where the view will not be compromised.
Really enjoyed our morning at TL. Wave pool was a highlight for us, we got knocked over a few times! Good range of slides, bit tamer than some of the other parks at the likes of wet & wild and definitely aimed towards younger children but still a good half day out. July thunderstorms and lightning at 12pm meant we left the park early as all rides closed so we toddled off to downtown Disney for the afternoon but we had a lovely time for the 3ish hours we were there. Like all Disney parks, food and drink we're pretty expensive ($25 dollars for one drink and some mini donuts) but you only live once! Won't be returning this year as we preferred aquatica and wet & wild but still a nice family park.
We love this water park, we arrived early in the morning and at this time it was not busy and as such we made the most of the slides and wave pool. After lunch it got very busy but by this point we decided to leave as we were going to Magic Kingdom later in the day.
Love typoon lagoon. The surrounds are lovely, nfloating round the warm lazy river under the plants and trees is like paradise. For the more adventurous there are many slides and of course the waves. The small childrens area is perfect for the under fives. If you are feeling adventurous you can don a snorkel and swim over small sharks and multi coloured fish. There are changing rooms and towel hire, so just turn up with your swim costume. Food available at several locations. Wish I was there now!
