What a fun stop in St. Augustine. Our tour guide, Mark made this a fun tour, but very educational on how their vodka, gin and bourbon is made with the help of many local people and farmers. Stop in to take a tour, about 45 minutes of your day well spent and did I say, it is free with free samples at the end of the tour! After your tour, stop in at the gift shop and buy your next bottle of vodka or gin to support the small business of St. Augustine.
This short tour was good. We got there right on time, and started the tour with a little video. We were then guided to the actual, fully functioning distillery. They explained the process clearly. After a few rounds of q&a's they guided everyone to the tasting room. Two craft drinks were made for everyone to have a little taste. It was short and sweet, with a strong finish.
Very informational, Chris was great just enough humor and the drinkers were good! Tried the the vodka we bought today , super good.
From the moment you enter this sharp little museum until you exit with a drink sample at the other end of the tour, you will be educated, entertained and engrossed in the St. Augustine Distillery tour. Just had a blast and enjoyed meeting
Awesome Kraft style distillery. Tour guide was phenomenal! Can't wait for burbon to be bottled. If it's as good as vodka were in for a treat!!
We've been on small distillery tours and this one did not disappoint. We'll be back when the Rum is ready!
When in St. Augustine, you should definitely go on the Distillery Tour. It is free and at the end you get two samples, one gin and one vodka. The short movie in the beginning sets the tour up and our tour guide was very nice and informative (and the groups bartender too). Afterwards, my husband and I went next door to the Ice Plant (bar and restaurant). Such a cool place! Loved the atmosphere!! We had to 2 Florida Mules served in copper mugs. The bartender had an old ice factory apron on to fit in with the theme. Very enjoyable few hours!
This is a free tour and the trolly stops right at the front door which is super convenient. I would definitely recommend it. It was an informative tour and the samples drinks were yum. The tour lasts about 40 minutes.
We only visited because it was on the tram tour (which is a waste of time and money). But the Distillery was one of the highlights of our visit to St. Augustine. The tour was fun and informative, the tasting consisted of 2 samples - and the gin & tonic was out of this world. We bought 2 "drink sets" ( 2 bottles of gin, tonic, bitters), gifting one and consuming the other.....Nice way to start a vacation! And to think I've wasted all this time drinking vodka tonics - the juniper berry flavor and "real" tonic makes for an outstanding cocktail. I also understand the bar/restaurant is great fun.
It was a really interesting tour! Mark, our tour guide was very animated which was great for holding even the little ones' attention. The sample part of the tour far exceeded my expectations. Mark mixed a couple if different cocktails using their vodka and their gin. Their gin being probably the best I've had the pleasure of trying. Take the time to stop by and tour the Saint Augustine Distillery.
Go for the 5:00 tour and then sit at the bar for a while before enjoying dinner at the restaurant there! The bartenders are great fun! They love working there and it shows! If you are using the trolley for transportation be sure to take your car to the distillery before your tour here so that you can stay for dinner as the last trolley leaves around 5:00.
We came here because of the reviews, and were not disappointed. The guide we had was fun, and learned quite a bit about the making of this distillery. We enjoyed the tasting after also. Certainly a place to spend some time.
This is the best place to visit in SA. These people have made an investment in the local area by reclaiming the old ice plant and partnered with local farmers and other venders to create a truly unique and sustainable operation. Mark was our tour guide and he was fantastic. We recommend you go to the Distillery at least once when you are in town.
Don't expect lots of free booze, just a taste! We enjoyed our tour and then our tour guide/bartender showed us a couple drink recipes that we got to try. It was interesting and our tour guide Kelly was great! Vodka made from sugar cane! Support the business and buy your bottles there if your a fan!
What a great experience! We enjoyed everything on the tour from the video explaining the distilleries roots to the tasting and the gift shop. We bought our limit for the year for us and family. Can't wait to return for more!
