Never hesitate to attend a play at American Stage in St. Petersburg, Florida. The theater is simply perfect from any seat. Not only can you see everything close up, but there is no problem hearing all the dialogue. Perfect seating and perfect acoustics. The company never disappoints with its perfect direction and professionalism. In all respects I highly recommend this small quaint theater company for an enjoyable escape. The location is close to great restaurants and the price for tickets is more than reasonable. Drinks at intermission. You can park on the side streets or a small lot just north of the theater.

I have never seen a bad production here -- musical, comedy, drama -- American Stage presents them all wonderfully. And the theater itself is a playgoer's dream. Not a bad seat in the surprisingly-small and acoustically-sound house. And tickets are easy to get by phone for pick up day of the performance.

We have seen several plays at the new venue. The acting is quite good. The seats are very comfortable and there are no bad seats regarding site lines. The most recent play- Radio Golf- was very well performed. A great asset for St. Petersburg.

Surprisingly good! Nice seating, acting was a solid A. We saw 23rd street and would highlyb recommend it. Bar service was also very good. Just a great venue and value!

A theatre fan , and I do love to support the arts. American stage always has great actors and great plays. Always a good choice.

American Stage productions are always excellent and most are thought-provoking. I have been a subscriber for years and have never been disappointed. I always take friends from out-of-town and it always a highlight of their visit.

This small theatre presents great local and national talent in a small theatre environment which gives the audience a real in-person view and great closeness with the actors. I am always watching the local adds to see who may be coming to American Stage. You can't miss with this great small theatre.

L-shaped theater is unusual in shape but works very well. Some seats are slightly better than others (center section is best as always), but there isn't a bad seat in the house. Stage is well setup; sets are nicely constructed; acting is very good. What a bargain for live theater!During the intermission, walk the halls for old photos of 1950's era St Pete.

This is a wonderful small intimate venue with stadium type seating. I estimate it has about 200 seats so every seat is excellent and the seats are comfortable. Not a bad seat in the house! The show we saw was wonderful and the acting first class! Very professional. This was no amateur production! Prices are very reasonable and affordable. We will return for future performances!

Top notch productions at American Stage. Last night's production of "The Chosen" was a moving play and very well preformed. This is our third year as season ticket holders and we have enjoyed every production. The theatre is located on the south east corner of 2nd Ave N and 3rd St N in downtown St. Petersburg. Parking is available in the parking garage on 2nd Ave or across from the Sundial Shopping Mall just east of the theatre. The lobby is spacious and the bar is well equipped with call brands and a wide selection of beers, wine, soft drinks and coffee. The seating is the most comfortable that I have experienced with wide seats and high backs. The angle of the rows are such that tall people don't obstruct the view of the patron seated behind. The audience members seated stage right, there is a secret tunnel under the auditorium seating to speed you across the theatre to your seats. Especially helpful at intermission when you remember just how much iced tea you had with dinner. The performers are some of the best in the region and the play selections offer a wide variety of experiences for the audience. Highly recommend!

This theater has wonderful, professional productions in a small, intimate theater. Every seat is a great one!

I've been a season subscriber for years and have enjoyed everything I've seen at American Stage. The actors are extremely talented and the set designs are fantastic. The August Wilson plays and the musical in the park are my favorites. There's not a bad seat in the house.

We love the quality of theatre at American Stage. We have never seen a bad performance. We especially love the preview nights during the week!!!

Consistently excellent theater productions - but play selection tends to stick to surfacy comic plays or "old chestnuts" rather than thought-provoking dramas or other plays that stimulate real thought and new perspectives in theater-goers - which is what theater should aim to do. No cutting-edge plays in their line-up. But everything they do is absolutely excellently done. I just wish they would tackle more thought-provoking innovate and sometimes cutting-edge plays rather than the established "old chestnuts" and the comedic entertainment selections, which I can get on television. I can't get the perspective-widening thought-production seriouis theater, especially drama (old and new) on television. This is what a serious theater company should be doing, in my opinion. To not do so is a misallocation of precious resources that the community very much needs.

The Chosen is a 1st rate production. Acting is excellent, the play provocative and uplifting. The set is fantastic. Always a treat to attend a play here.
