This was our first time to visit and we loved everything about it. The box seats gave you a great view with a chair you can move around. No one to climb over to go to one of the many bars and return with your cocktail to enjoy the show. Great acoustics also. 1964 put on a really good performance.

We recently went to a concert at The Mahaffey and it's been almost 6 years since we last visited The Mahaffey. We're glad its remained part of our downtown area as it brings yet another element of things to do. It's truly a theatrical seating venue with good acoustics. We arrived early enough to enjoy a cocktail before the show and were allowed to put drink orders in early so they would be ready at intermission. Great idea!!! The location is great, early to find and if you go early you'll run into people to gab with that share your interests. We loved our time, the concert and the people and staff were very friendly and always with a smile :-)

I have enjoyed a two day conference for women in business at The Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg many years ago. Just recently I had the pleasure to go to a concert with my husband at this venue, and we fell in love with the location, the staff, the building, the acoustics, and just the entire feel of this beautiful theater. Not only is it wonderfully located in the downtown area - walking distance from the restaurant in SunDial where we had dinner first - but it is a lovely venue with great box seats (or so they appear as great with swivel chairs), clean restrooms, beautiful and comfy seats, a wonderful stage, and terrific staff/volunteers that make you feel appreciated. The sound during our Conference years back was excellent, and Friday night's concert proved nothing less - all was great.

We went to see The Indigo Girls in concert with the Craig Turley Orchestra. What a delightful night of music in this very nice theater. I was able to book our parking online for a reduced rate and as suggested we arrived an hour prior to concert time. Parking was very easy and well organized. Our walk from the parking garage to the theater was very short. I had ordered our tickets online months earlier and it was very convenient to pick them up at "will call". The lobby inside of the theater has numerous bars to purchase a variety of beverages from with plenty of seating and areas to mingle in. The theater itself is very intimate, the seats are very comfortable and the staff is very helpful and courteous. The acoustics were excellent and the place was rocking with energy. Leaving the parking area was again very well orchestrated by the parking staff and cars were funnelled out orderly and quickly. A wonderful evening and I would definitely recommend this venue.

My husband, myself, and some friends just saw "Masters of Illusion" last week and had a great time. No problem with parking and tho they do have a fee of $10 if you want covered parking, they also have plenty of free parking. The theater is very comfortable and attractive, not so large that you would be too far away from the stage if you opt for the budget friendly seats. The theater staff are all friendly and helpful and the food sold in the lobby reasonably priced. There are some very nice restaurants within walking distance for dinner before or after the show that we took advantage of. All in all, I would say definitely go see a show here, I don't think you will be disappointed.

We saw Diana Ross in concert at the Mahaffey Theatre. It is a wonderful setting for an intimate concert. Good parking ($10). Several bars on site for a pre-concert drink. Easy to buy tickets on line. Great spot.

We saw Diana Ross we sat in the Loge section it was perfect. The staff helpful & courteous. Valet parking not recommended too long to get your car at the end. Really nice theatre.

The seating in this theater is horrific. Seats are tiny and crammed together so close you feel as though you were flying on a cheap airline. Very sad and embarrassing for this venue. Other than that it is OK. Just be sure to have some muscle relaxants on hand or you won't be able to walk when you stand up.

Not a bad seat in the house! We went to see my. Daughter perform in her finall county band performance of her high school career! Very accommodating for wheel.chair bound visitors. Great sound and lighting. Only minus was some of the ushers were a wee bit snooty and they all did not seem to be on the same page with direction, etc.

For the price of the ticket ($60 balcony) the short 45=minute show was very disappointing - plus Merle Haggard seemed very angry (or ill) when he stormed off the stage. The audience sat in somewhat stunned silence as the house lights came up and the band stared after the performer. Can someone comment on what happened. We felt cheated on the performance.

Wandered over from the Dali Museum and discovered that the Mahaffey presents ELVIS Tribute that evening. I inquired at the box office and scored a 29 dollar ticket in the first row of the middle balcony. The parking is 10 dollars between the Dali and Mahaffey. The show was really entertaining. The crowd loved it and had a great time during the audience participation segments. There are some first class concerts in the next few months including Diana Ross. I believe subscription would be the way to go. I think I was lucky with my ELVIS purchase and if you want to see a show advance purchase would be the way to plan to see a performance.

I have seen several shows here, most recently in September and December 2014. It's in a beautiful location. It is walker-friendly if you've been in the downtown area [or wish to be] before or after events. I've never had a bad seat in this theater and the acoustics are quite good.

This weekend we Went to our first show since moving to the area. Saw the Nutcracker Ballet. The Mahaffey is beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly. Am looking forward to attending more events here in the future.

I have seen many shows, theater shows, comedy shows, concerts in the past etc at this venue however this time we were told that now at the mahaffey you are not suppose to stand at any concerts there. Too bad as I have many good memories of bands I can't image not being able to dance to. At the Kool and the Gang concert no one was sitting. The usher was also very rude on telling us their policy we thought we were breaking the law. We did sit to avoid confrontation although many others around us during the show were standing.

Of all places, the Cincinnati Pops is touring Florida and their first stop was St. Petersburh's Mahaffey Theater. Excellent acoustics, great lighting, easy steps to and from your seat, and the staff was exceptionally helpful.
