was hoping to go out on the casino boat for an evening, it wasnt running while we was here, what ashamei heard its a nice little cruise ride and was so looking forward to this, maybe next time
We had a good time, the staff was friendly, the evening was great. The boat wasn't very clean and we had to ask for a new drink because there was something in my glass but overall it has been fun
Fun-filled gambling on the water! If you are a serious gambler you may not want to go on the boat, for you do have to be patient until you arrive in the water where the machines are "turned on!" The boat had a musty smell, but you are on the water! They did have 2 winners, which one person won over two thousand! If you tend to get sea sick, I do not recommend this trip because it did get rough! If you are on the second floor, there are windows all around and you can see the boat moving up and down. If you experience sea sickness, I recommend that you go to the top of the boat because the fresh air and the beautiful water takes your mind off of sea-sickness, which I did experience. The food available for purchase was ok. There was music and people were dancing! Alcohol was available. Overall, good experience but not worth a second trip. Treasure Island is a neat place and fun things to do after you come back from the cruise.
Not really impressed with food or service. If you want to gamble, then this is for you. Check weather before boarding. They will sail even if weather is bad. Went twice and both times 85% of people on boat were sea sick. You could not even walk around the slot areas there were so many people lying down using life vests as mattresses. Could not use restrooms because so many folks threw up in them. My advice would be to stay on shore and head to a land casino.
We went on a Sunday afternoon and were granted free passage based on wearing our Rays garb. (Dad's VA ID also got him free passage.) We skipped the buffet based on reviews here on tripadvisor and were not disappointed - went to dinner upon return to John's Pass and were very happy with the food ashore. Mom and the wife lost a few bucks on the slot machines and Dad picked up a few extra dollars on the Let It Sail (Let It Ride elsewhere) table. $5 blackjack and Let It Ride is unheard of at land based casinos (plan on $25 minimums as any $10 table is full) so the casual gambler who wants low stakes and is there for fun not big winnings will appreciate the low table minimums. Overall we all had a good time. If considering a few hours casino cruise this is the one to go to. We live only a few miles from the Port Richey casino boat and will drive to John's Pass the next time we want to go. Would be better if they opened up the foredeck to passengers during the transit but this is pretty minor.
We went on the casino cruise, it was a lot of fun. You can get on for $10 and eat for $10. That was a bargain for $20. You can't eat at mcdonalds for $10. The food was ok, but the experience was a lot of fun for me and my friends. We gambled drank and danced on the dance floor. A nice get a way for 5 hrs. I lost a little, but 2 of my friends won on the slots. You can't go into a casino expecting to win let's face it, Casinos weren't built of every one winning ,lol.. But the staff was nice drinks were good and over all a fun time. This ship has only been operating since sept. good job.We will be back.
So, you are probably not going to make your fortune at the casino on this cruise, but you'll have a good time! The food is a must skip -- unless you have a longing for bad school cafeteria fare. The bartenders and servers are very friendly and the entertainment was fantastic -- they had an amazing guitar player who we all really enjoyed.Overall, a fun night out on the water!
If you must do this, bring a certain amount of cash you are willing to part with, do so and then enjoy the cruise with a few drinks. I lost $100 on slots alone in less than a half hour. So please don't be an idiot like me and keep feeding the slots. Take a few rolls of quarters, spend them, have some fun and then move on. Your not going to leave this boat a winner....
Went out on this casino boat from John's Pass, ship was quite modern with plenty of slot machines and gambling tables. trip out is 5 hours with 3 hours gambling time. Seniors get a discount of $10 to board and that includes a buffet meal
I also went on that cruise a few years ago and i didn't see anyone win anything, after a couple of hours into the cruise we couldn't wait to get back to our hotel.
Spend your money in the bar instead and enjoy the cruise.
We visited Treasure Island for one day, and found the beach to be an excellent place for a family. We had 11 in our family ranging from age 9 to age 68. All of us enjoyed the beach. The beach facilities were good. There are showers outside near the restrooms to wash the sand off. You can rent an umbrella or cabana and chairs. Dolphins could be seen playing off in a distant, which made our day. If I am ever in the area, I will go to Treasure Island again.
We bought two tickets for the Treasure Island Casino Cruz for $10. We boarded the boat, they took us out into the harbour, approximately a half hour later they announced that they had mechanical issues and would return to port, They announced that they would issue refunds at the port. No one approached us so therefore we approached the staff members at the ticket booth and they informed that there were no refunds and the manager could not be found. We returned the next day and we were informed again that there were no refunds and we could not talk to the manager. Fortunately, it was only a loss of $20 but I felt sorry for the bus load of seniors that were leaving the area early next morning that lost their money. I am following up with the company and have not heard a reponse yet - based upon the level of service I am not expecting anything.
