Miles of pristine beaches, trails and waterways unspoiled by development. A superb beach alternative to the crowded, overdone hotel beaches found elsewhere.

I liked the secluded beach, but was somewhat disappointed at lack of wildlife on the hiking trail. Would like to go back and spend more time at the beach.

We always come here during our winter visit to the Naples/Bonita Springs area. One of the great beaches in the area. Small fee to enter State Park. Greeted by a employee to answer any question about beach and area for fishing.

While staying on Fort Myers Beach we visited Lover's Key two times, it was such a pretty beach! The first time we arrived after 10a but easily found a parking spot in the 3rd lot, was a short stroll to the Tram pick up area. We never went to the beach you could walk to, we took the Tram both times. The volunteer drivers were always nice and friendly. Just a short 0.5 mile ride and we arrived at a large beautiful beach. There are amenities and a place to get food/drink/ice cream! You can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs (we brought our own). The second time we arrived before 10a and were able to easily park in lot 1. Worth the $8 dollar all day entrance fee. We will come back!

Convenient to FMB, very relaxing with lots to do and see. Many different options, or simply do nothing except enjoy the beach...

The $8.00 entrance fee is so worth the visit. The beach is beautiful, it's very wide and very long. Not the place for shell seeking or at least it wasn't when we visited but if it's shelling you want, Sanibel is the place. If it's a beautiful beach you want, this is the place. The beach is a bit of a walk from the parking lot so shuttle service is provided, a nice touch. Plent of rest room facilities and little gift shops and concession stand. Paddle boarding and kayaking available as well although we didn't do either but that's cause I have alligatophobia (okay, I made up that word), but seriously there are alligators in those waters! Not in the ocean of course but in the waters surrounding the park. Have fun!

This park can fill your life with great seaside experiences. Parking is ample. The tram runs regularly because the major beach area is some distance from the parking. Hiking and biking trails abound and kayak, bike, and beach equipment are available for rent. Concessions provide adequate nourishment if you don't bring. A lunch.

My husband, daughter, grandson and I spent a great afternoon at this state park. Helpful volunteers assist you with info on parking, tram service, etc. The beach we enjoyed was vast and sugar sand. You can rent umbrellas & chairs, buy lunch & sit at picnic tables, and rent some water toys. The small entrance fee is well worth it.

A favorite place to stop when in the area, a natural sea shore, never overcrowded, perfect if you go to the beach for the beach and not for the crowds or partying.

Very nice park with large beach and tram to take you from the parking lot to the beach. Lots of trails to walk on and a fresh water lake in the middle of the park (supposedly with an alligator in it).

We are from Boston and wanted to try all the local beaches. We drove to Lovers Key Beach today and paid the eight dollar entrance fee. We went to the first beach opening. This is where we stayed until we noticed further down there was another location with restrooms and a concession stand. The beach was gorgeous and the water was very warm. There are lots of shells. If you cannot walk from the parking lot the tram will take you from the parking lot to two different beach access points. The water was so clear and Caribbean blue green. The sand is very soft with very few rocks and shells. Highly recommended beach!

One of our favorite beaches in the Ft Myers area. Wide and long white sand beach with a free tram if you want to go to the far south end of the beach. Kayak rentals available and plenty of bike paths and trails for walking. Park entrance fee per car is $8 is going rate in this area, also allows re-entry into the park for the day. Plenty of wildlife also if that is your interest. Family friendly with restrooms and snack bar, this is a nice quiet beach for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Plenty of parking, but get there early if you want a spot close to the tram, that is the smallest lot and the overflow lots are some distance from the beach, I mean real early on primo beach days. Between 9 or a little after sometimes that doesn't guarantee a spot up front.

This and Bowman's Beach on Sanibel are 2 of my favorite beaches in the area. Lovers Key is very close to where I stay ( family owned condo less than 3 miles away) so I usually go here rather than Bowman's which involves driving through the crowded area of Ft Myers Beach and then over to the far end of Sanibel. Lovers Key is a nice long, pretty stretch of beach. The beach is deep and does not feel crowded even at spring break. There is a bit of walking involved when going here even if you get into parking lot number 1, but there is a tram that will take you from that lot to the beach if you prefer to ride. There are bathroom facilities at parking lot 1 and at the beach itself. There is also a little place called Hurricane Charley's where you can get water, soft drinks and food ( sandwiches, hit dogs, etc) if you don't pack a lunch. You can hike in this state park and kayaks are a available to rent. There are a lot of nice beaches in this area, but I find myself coning to this one most often because it is convenient, pretty, uncrowded and relaxing.Note: I wish tripadvisor did not insist on filling out the " what sort of visit was this" section . I find it annoying .None of the categories fit so I picked the closest one.

Great Beach good shells.. needs more benches on the bridge side of the park. Walked to the point which is about 2 miles. Great water very warm for March.

Only $2 to get into this slice of paradise. Lot's of trails, but we chose to walk along the beach! Amazing sand and so many cool shells. We could see dolphins while walking along & pelicans diving for fish. Stay all day. They have a tram, some food, & restrooms. Bring your beach stuff and pick out a spot. You won't be crowded like just down the road.
