I played this course today for the second time. It's a really nice course - good fairways, good greens - excellent practice facilities and everything at a reasonable price. The layout of the course is also more than just " good. " Each hole has it's own privacy without having to worry about a stray ball coming from parts unknown. My only disappointment was that the kitchen had closed at 3:00 and we wanted to stick around for awhile after our game. Very pleasant and accommodating staff - especially the lady in the pro shop. We will definitely return here !
We were a party of 7 adults. The stations were excellent; food was delicious. Typical Thanksgiving fare with a couple of new items - lamb; prime rib. Service was impeccable and attentive. Casual atmosphere; views to golf course enhanced the experience.
Halifax Plantation offers an 18 hole golf course, restaurant and bar for your pleasure. Friday nights, get your sing on with Karaoke with Harryoke at 7pm. Always good food, nice servers and a fun place to meet old or new friends. Pleasant Country Club atmosphere , open to the public.
Good Sunday Brunch for the money. Made to order omelets, section of bacon, sausage, Eggs Benedict, fruit, breads, and waffles on the buffet. 12.95 including beverage. Atmosphere and wait staff were pleasant. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because i had to point out to staff that some plates on the buffet table were dirty. Also had to point out to staff that there were no plates on the buffet at one point. You can also order off the menu. The restaurant is open to the public. I would go back.
I golf twice a week in volusia county and played about 20 courses. I love the LPGA hills, after ace-ing #7 in august, but I like the Halifax plantation better. Bad golfers dont hold up the play because its about impossible to loose a ball with lotsa open areas off the fairways. 10 handicappers love the approaches to undulating greens that always needs 2 putts. In the winter the greens get fast as linoleum. I like the staff, food at the restaurant' especially Sunday brunch. I like Halifax as well as both LPGA courses or river bend. If your a 40 handicapper' please play the gold tees. Its the closest to ormond by the sea too.
What an awesome golf course. The greens are clean and cut perfect. The course is one of the best and the location is awesome.
This is a great golf course, very beautiful & in excellent condition! It's an 18 hole course in a beautiful area of Ormond Beach called "The Loop" The course is around intermediate grade, but challenging enough for the better golfers. It's in a neighborhood called Halifax Plantation that has beautiful homes all along the fairways. The golf club is public so anyone is welcome & the fees are moderate, around $35 to $45. They also have a golf shop, cart rental, driving range, putting green, & a very beautiful restaurant. This is a very classic looking place with reasonable prices. The food is delicious, especially the breakfast with top notch service! Halifax has a screened in veranda to eat outside on with a view of the putting green & driving range. There is plenty of parking for golfers & diners.
The brunch is always great on Sunday. And lunch or breakfast before golf or after. The bar is great, the bar staff fantastic. The restaurant is nothing fancy but good quality.
My husband and I were having lunch with a friend who is building a home in Plantation Halifax. We agreed to meet at Halifax Plantation Golf Club. While waiting for him to show up I looked at the menu and was a little disappointed to see they changed their menu for the summer. I always have a hard time deceiding between the Ruben or the Quiche of the day so there was no decision there.I had one of the specials of the day which was Beef Burgundy over noodles and I have to say it was the best I ever had. I was lucky to get the last portion and I ate every little drop. It was cooked perfect and seasoned just right. My husband had the cold cucumber dill soup and the shrimp dish. He loved his also. Our friend has both the cold and hot soup and loved them both.In complementing the waitress about the meal she told me that if you ever have a dish that you love you can contact the chef a few days before and he will be more than happy to make it for you. The atmosphere is beautiful and service top notch. We haven't been there in awhile but will return real soon.
My husband came across this place, while out biking the gorgeous trails in the area.He suggested we check it out for lunch. What a wonderful surprise!Ice cold beverages in the elegant (slightly dated decor) dining room, with a fabulous view of the golf course. We had a relaxing, delicious lunch. Served attractively, with no delay. Our server was awesome. Food prices are good value. The rest rooms were super clean. A darling little Pro Shop on the opposite end of the building with limited stock and golf attire for sale. The grounds and building had that quiet, charming, "Old South", feel to it. Plenty of parking. We will return.Visit for yourself. It does not disappoint.
Been to this restuaunt many times for Dinner, Lunch and Brunch. It is always a good value with wonderful specials. Wait service is friendly and concerned. My most recent experience was somewhat disappointing in that they diminished the selection on the menu, Some of the great standards are missing, The specials this night were great making up for a short dinner menu...I hope this only a temporary change. The patio is a great palce to begin with a drink and take in the view and sunset. The drinks are more than reasonable and definitely not a short pour.
good looking establishment - too darned noisy to have a conversation, presentation needs to improve and wait-staff has been surly sometimes - food is quite costly, and in my experience, I found that the bartenders often "short" drinks - this a shame because it could be one of the best places around town - Sunday Brunch is pretty good, but for lunch pf-f-f-t, too expensive serving standard lunch type fare, using frozen hamburgers -
Had lunch in the dining room after meeting with the banquet caterer to discuss a private luncheon. The service and food was very good. The place is beautiful with windows looking out on the golf course. They have a small priivate room for up to 40 and a huge banquet room.
Staff is excellent, service is prompt and courteous, and the food is good. Menu selections are varied and the food is tasty. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is casual.
This is a residential community with an 18-hole golf course and restaurant that is open to the public. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a pub with large screen TVs to watch sport events and enjoy food and beverages. There are themed buffets during the year. There is also a banquet room for weddings and large parties. The menu is extensive, the food is delicious and prices are reasonable. They serve the best coffee I have ever had.
