We has just a few hours here. We went in the park, paid our fee, and were handed a map. The "toll taker" was told what we were looking for were the beach rocks, but he never did tell us that it was across the A1A HIGHWAY. The map they gave us is impossible to read for the first time visitor. The Beach rocks, probably the most impressive thing to see is across the street, and we FINALLY figured it out by asking a fellow traveler. We did enjoy our walk on the beach and the view of the impressive rock formation, but if we had been told where they were, we would have had another 30 minutes to be on the beach. Disappointed with the park personnel. Please have a professional put together your map next time.

This is a beautiful park. If you're visiting the Saint Augustine or Daytona Beach area and you're from Canada or the northern States and you love gardens you owe it to yourself to visit. The formal garden is not that large but it's breathtaking. Whatever you do, don't forget your camera. Every photo will be beautiful.

Washington Oaks Garden state Park has one on the most beautiful gardens in the area. Frequently, people miss some of natures most beautiful things that many of the State Parks have. This is one to investigate.

We went here in February, so most of the flowers weren't blooming yet, and roses hasn't starting budding yet. The gardens and trees are beautiful! The koi pond and the gazebo area are so pretty.

Lovely shady walking trails among native plantings. The formal garden was not much in February. The roses bloom in early April but there were a few Rhodos out and camellia trees in bloom. The Young House is open and has some interesting written information on posters about the history of the place. The gift shop is beautiful and had some lovely items for sale.

This is a gorgeous walking venue with major Florida history being told along the way. I took an art class at WOG and loved every moment. Truly connecting with nature - everyone should have this experience. There have been many weddings done in the rose garden area. Absolutely lovely.

I love Washington Oaks. The trails through the gardens and the displays are well kept and interesting. It is seldomly crowded and very peaceful just to meander along the intercoastal. There is a small gift shop with lots of interesting items to shop. Across A1A is access to the ocean with a beach walkover. Great place to spend the day.

Like the old Cypress Gardens south of Orlando but cheaper and less commercial. I am NOT even a garden enthusiastic but found myself absolutely thrilled by the beautiful grounds and the serenity of the whole park.

The park itself was clean, well maintained, and easy to get around in. The walking paths were clear and had easy to follow signs. The marsh, ponds, fountains, and rose garden were beautiful.

Real nice park to stop and smell the roses. Reasonable entry fee for the whole family. Great place to spend an afternoon and escape the sun under the huge oak trees.

Excellent place to walk through great gardens and explore the Maritime forest of this special place.

A very peaceful park with great walks though Oak Tree glades alongside the waterway. Excellent value for your $

Attended a wedding here and the setting was beautiful. Park employees were helpful and very nice. Old Florida gardens - Florida tourists rarely see.

As a professional photographer, Washington Oaks Garden State Park is one of our favorite locations to photograph the landscape, engagement photos, and portraits, creating beautiful floral backgrounds. The formal gardens are usually full of beautiful sub-tropical plants, and ponds with coy fish. Sets a stage for wedding ceremonies and other events. The park staff are constantly upgrading the pathways and landscape. There are several hiking paths and a picnic area beneath majestic oaks with bathrooms, water and stationary grills. The inter coastal river is on the west side of the park and when you finish up on the garden side, you can cross the road to the oceanside of the park as well. Here you find large coquina rock along this unique beach shore.

Made a detour here based on the recommendation of the staff at Matanzas Innlet Restaurant. So glad we did! Beautiful old growth oak trees, nice walking paths, magnificent rose garden. It was Saturday so there was a Plant Sale in progress. The folks were so knowledgeable and shared their expertise gleefully. Don’t forget to go across A1A and enjoy the ocean side of the park as well. This was an easy $5 to spend (per vehicle). It’s also a perfect destination if you want to pick up tickets early for the Ft. Matanzas ferry and you have 2 hours to kill.
