Unlike some of the other South Beach locals like Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale, Palm Beach is pretty much pure beach with no boardwalk, shops, restaurants, etc. There’s even very little hotels fronting the beach. Since we were there off season, it was extremely quiet. I can imagine this being a more laid back place compare to the more popular beaches
It is truly fantastic to stroll along the beach front especially as the sun goes down. Unfortunately, the week we were there was spoiled by sand excavation that not only caused continual noise, but turned the beach ugly. No one could determined how long this was to continue in the future.
Generic beach. "$5" an hour metered parking. Not! I forgot my Rolls! Forgot to mention the special sand brought in from the Rivierra!
Seeing the sun rise over the Atlantic was magical. Stroll along the beach and meet other sun worshippers and all kinds of birds. Some construction areas.
Great beach for a stroll before sunset. It was very peaceful to hear the waves crash along the shore. The beach was rocky in a few places but clean overall.
Take a dip in the Atlantic. Wow - warm and so blue. Loved it!Not easy to find a spot that is not bordered by private homes or hotels, but worth the find.
Palm Beach does a great of keeping is clean. Just a fun relaxing place but don't go there expecting much if anything in the way of a scene. It is truly a place to enjoy the sun and surf.Waves and under tow can be an issue along with jelly fish in the surf so pay attention to the postings. They are serious about the parking regulations and it will cost you $60 + if you don't pay to park or go over the posted sign parking times in the free zones. In summary one of the better FL beaches without staying in a $300 + hotel room.
this is not the best sea and beach i saw in my life but the beach is well mantained, clean with shower, bathroom and changing room everywhere. The ocean blvd is nice street, the sea is so and so maybe in this part of US is not really beautiful
We were surprised to find ample open parking right in front of the beach but now I know why. We parked and paid at a pay machine that DOES NOT give a receipt. We stayed for an hour and I went back to pay more for additional parking. All seemed well until we got back to the car and had a ticket. Since the machine does not give a receipt, there is no way to verify you paid. Moral of the story is Do Not park right in front of the beach!!The beach itself was fine but not great.
The beach is typical Florida sand- sort of dark and unappealing. However, the view of the mansions is not to be missed. Architecturally unbelievable- not the mansions of millionaires, but of BILLIONAiRES!
I'd say this is kind of a secret spot even though you'll be sharing the sand with plenty of other "lobsters." The beach off Ocean Drive in Palm Beach is clean, quite, and simply wonderful.
When most people think of beaches, they think of mile-high condos, cheesy t-shirt shops and soft pretzels...all within a block or two's reach. This beach is not that; nowhere near it. It is a pure, unadulterated beach. Stretches of white sand, perfect for walking and for relaxing, while you see fish and dolphins jump, and mostly mild waves hit the sand. And there is not a commercial project in sight. It is located just off Worth Avenue, one of the most beautiful shopping areas in the country, if not the world. Condos and homes and shops are behind you, so you don't see them while you're out in the ocean or on the sand. Bring your own chair and towels, and be prepared to walk a bit. If you cannot find a parking spot off Worth, head to Sunset and drive east; you'll surely find one on that block, just off the ocean. A MUST DO IN PALM BEACH! (But not in March, when the sharks migrate right through here! The beach will be closed.)
Bring your own blanket and beach chairs and be prepared for the challenge to park. Plan on a fee to get near this beach. Thick sand and nice clean beach. Not crowded. It is really for the folks that love to sit or walk the beach. Very laid back area.
I do love the beach yet the walk to it is challenging due to the lose sand. The edge slopes off and you are there. We saw lots of silver fish jumping and a dolphin, pelicans diving and even a shark. Quite beautiful.
This is the perfect stretch of sand for easy walking and frolicking in the ocean. No gimmicky shops and bars, just idyllic locale for lazing by the sand.
