Visited main site next to Pier 60, I think Grumpy Gus was working there. Of all the people and staff we met, was probably the only person that was not friend,y, funny for such a place whose main goal is to promote tourism.
This is a great place to start one's tour or stay of the Clearwater area. They have the info, tix and the knowledge to make your trip thd best it can be. Stop by!
I've lived here for over 30 years. Before I moved here my family came here as tourists. I loved it then and love this area to this day. I had an accident while out of state that left me disabled. My family pleaded with me to move back up north. I didn't even consider moving from here. If you are in a wheelchair you will find St. Pete and Clearwater as well as all of Pinellas County to be extremely disability friendy. A couple of examples: if you don't drive you can use the county wide bus system. PSTA is the short name which is an abbreviation for Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority. PSTA busses are kneeling busses which mean the front entrance kneels toward the ground. This allows the driver to electronically change the stairs into the bus into a wheelchair ramp. Second example. Ft DeSoto, part of (and I would say the premiere park) The Pinellas County Parks Department. Its very disabled friendly. They have a portion of the park dedicated solely for the disabled. Many visitors are unaware thst the park's administration office is open to locals and visitors. Stop by the park and ask the very friendly staff what there is to do. I guarantee you will be amazed. Have a gret time and don't be shy about asking us for directions. We are ALL proud to call this home.
This city is with out parallel on that coast for booting cars Visitors and locals alike can look forward to an extended stay with costs, embarrassment and severe annoyance Crazy parking regs,, hap hazard notification and Rottweiler type parking enforcement make this a city parking income producer for the arrogant A great big zero on places to visit Steer clear until they get some common sense related to visitors , and there people
Big city with beach and surrounded by water and bad traffic in the afternoon. But the weather is a plus!
They work long and hard to sell our area to a varied number of organizations. They do a fine job of bringing tax dollars to our area.
