Amazing Duck Confit Mac and Cheese and Seafood Bisque - great staff. Very attentive and the music was top notch.
I visit each time I'm in Vero and always enjoy the atmosphere. Great staff and terrific musicians. Can't forget the food...also terrific!
I had stayed at the Caribbean Court before and remembered this cute piano bar. The appetizers were very good and the drinks good. The staff was great and the piano player relaxing and romantic.
The Piano Bar was a beautiful ending to a relaxing day! Very quaint and romantic atmosphere with soft piano playing melodies that enhance the mood. Food was very good and cocktails that rock. The management was very attentive. We look forward to our next visit.
I can't say enough about the place. What a wonderful experience. All in all, my date was impressed, drinks were flavorful, food looked awesome, performances were solid and just a nice vibe all the way around. Bravo Zulu!
The only complaint I have about Havana Nights is that it is hard to find. It's off the beaten path and tucked away behind hedges and up a flight of stairs with very little signage But I am glad I found it. I took a "first date" up the stairs and had a fantastic experience from the minute we set foot in the door. The piano player had just started playing, the bar was filled and the booth we sat in even had cushions fluffed for comfort. Our server, Marcella greeted us, brought us our menus, our drinks, our food and even talked us in to her favorite dessert - the Triple Layer Crisp (I can't remember the exact name). She was very friendly and new about everything on the menu. Even the General Manager came to our table to check on us and tell us about some new things happening. I am looking forward to coming back for their poetry night and the jazz singer in July. The food was fantastic and we were told there was a new chef. I don't know what the previous chef was like, but the new one knocked our socks off. Thanks to Havana and a great staff I think I will be bringing more "first dates" back - maybe even some second dates!
My husband and I visited Havana Nights Piano Bar on Tuesday June 10, 2014. We arrived just after 5:00 pm and the bartender/server were still setting up the music and the bar. I noticed that there were some dirty dishes on the bar that were left there the whole time we were there. We met Marcella, who seemed personable, yet somewhat confused as to what her role was. I had asked for a Macallan 12 year old scotch and Marcella could not locate it. James, the General Manager, seemed somewhat disturbed and agitated while he was fixing the sound system. She asked James where it was and he reacted very harshly and told her to look for it in a certain place on a shelf, where she still could not find it. His body language was such that it appeared to be an imposition on his part to find the liquor and pour me a drink. He found the smallest glass and told me that it was a 1.5 ounce pour. I told him that I didn't think it was really such a great shot and he insisted that it was. He went on to ramble that under previous management, they ran 40% over in their liquor sales. That should NOT have affected the amount of scotch in my glass! He also proceeded to tell me that “if I sat there all night, he would buy me a free drink.” That was not my contention at all. My husband ordered the house Merlot and we sat a the bar talking to both Marcella and James and told the both of them how much we used to really love Maison Martinique, but that over the years, the quality of food and service had really gone downhill. James' response to me was that (a) he had been a manager at 14 different restaurants (especially the “high-end” restaurants in Manhattan) and that he knew how to handle the restaurant business, (b) he could handle the whole bar by himself, even one twice the size of Havana Nights and (c) management brought him in to “clean house.” Having listened to his arrogant, self-aggrandizing oration, my husband and I thought we were going to have a much better experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case.We proceeded to sit at the center booth because we were going to have dinner, too. At the time we sat down (around 5:20 pm), we were the ONLY customers upstairs. Another couple came to the bar and we were “temporarily” forgotten. Marcella was our server and it took her several minutes to get us a menu. When she arrived to our table, all we could order from was the “prix fixe” menu and that the kitchen wasn't going to prepare anything else that wasn't on that menu, nor would they make any substitutions to the menu. I politely asked Marcella if should could please have the cook give me any starch, other than mashed potatoes with my salmon and after 2 phone calls downstairs, they were able to oblige. I also asked/reminded Marcella for my complimentary glass of wine 3x. I received the wine when the lobster bisque arrived, almost 20 minutes later. By that time, there were maybe 3 people at the bar-far from busy for her to be that inattentive. The lobster bisque was good, not great, so now my husband and I were thinking that not much had changed since the “new regime” took over. After 20 minutes of waiting for our salad to show up (it's now 6:20 pm), I went downstairs to see why the kitchen was so slow. There was nobody in either of the main dining rooms, so I couldn't understand how/why the food was taking so long. I went into the office and spoke to Edyta and told her just how bad the service was. One of the cooks came out of the kitchen and told me he put the soup and salads on the dumb-waiter at the same time. I got back upstairs and the salads were nicely chilled, so the cook lied about the timing. While we were eating our salads, James' and another bar patron went outside on the patio to smoke. James left the door open, so smoke was entering the lounge area-pretty inconsiderate while people are eating at a “fine dining establishment” and not just a hole-in-the wall bar.Around 6:50 pm, the entrees arrived to our table. They looked presentable, but that was about it. My salmon was either old or spoiled. I could not eat it. I asked my husband to try some and he even said it was bad. The entire dinner sat at the end of the table. His crab cake dinner was average, at best. This was certainly NOT the type of food we were accustomed to eating at this restaurant, regardless of how poor the service was. In addition, nobody came around to ask us how our food was, especially the “General Manager.” Ironically, another couple who sat down next to us, ordered 2 drinks, waited a long time for Marcella to show up, overheard that the food was not up to par and got up and left. When Marcella came back to “clean up the tables”, she noticed that 1 of the entrees had been barely touched. After waiting over 1 hour for my meal, she wanted to know if “we wanted anything else.” All I asked her to do was take the dinner off the bill and that I would be more than happy to pay for my salad and wine. She wound up “comping” the entire dinner and she, herself, mentioned that she “doesn't know what to do anymore” regarding the “kitchen service.”Phone calls were made to upper management (Dawn), but only one was returned on my voice mail; the excuse being that they “were planning for a big event.”Overall, my husband and I did not have an enjoyable evening. Yes, the pianist is terrific and the ambiance is still beautiful, but this restaurant reminds me of the “emperor’s new clothes”. What used to be one of my favorite place for food, service and atmosphere is now way off my radar.
This is a pretty small club, part of a boutique hotel. Really nice interior, feels like an old Havana plantation house. Great food, drinks and a really nice piano! Went on a Saturday night with friends for a drink. Really laid back atmosphere, loved the music and the vibe.
We are so sorry to have to write this review, but our experience left much to be desired. The singer is indeed too loud for such a small place - we would love to appreciate his considerable talent and voice acoustically - its a small room. We ordered from both the tapas menu and the main menu. The tapas was some cubed cheese and a few slices of sausage with no presentation - just toothpicks sticking out like an impromptu cocktail party. The cold cauliflower curry soup was just weird. My friend and I both ordered the spinach shitake mushroom salad; her's was quite small, like a house salad, mine looked like an entree size; neither of us could find more than a couple slices of mushroom...this salad costs $14. Every item on the mixed grill was underdone and the mixture of items was not complimentary to each other: bok choi, corn souffle (which tasted like flan,) pickled beet relish, potato gratin. For dessert we had to try the plum ice cream, but it wasn't evident that the chef had tried it; just not good. Our friends were so excited to introduce us to the Havana Nights Piano Bar, but it was such a disappointing experience they have been apologizing to us all day. The room is lovely, the bread rolls and soft butter are tasty, and our waiter...Llandro..was very good. But the menu is too unreliable and inconsistent for us to recommend or for us to return. Sorry.
Our waitress Leah made our experience so enjoyable. We were here playing golf and we will definitely eat there again. The food was excellent and the piano player entertaining.
nice lounge at the maison martinique.Entertainment brings some life to a otherwise sleepy little town.Valet parking is available.
last summer we frequented this place about 10 times. this year on our first visit with our neighbors, all went well until the singer started his act. he was much to loud and would not tone down his act after we asked him to lower the volume. We finished up and left and do not plan to ever return. Foods good but the waiter, bartender and singer do not seem to care. So...I don't care either.
So we saw the web site and 'This is the place to be in Vero Beach". So we walked there and waited at the door for 10 minutes to be greeted. They were filled, about 40 people. The Tapas menu was basically a Thai appetizer menu, no Spanish tapas.? Told the regular chef was away and the regular bartender was away, and the main restaurant was closed. Had Stone IPA on hand, a treat, until I asked for a second one and was told there was only one. So we made the best of it. the piano player played and then someone screwed up the computer for the bar and meal tabs, so we paid in cash. She returned with $10 extra and I was tempted to keep it but I returned it and was told, 'At least you're honest". i guess that was a thanks. Then the Frank Sinatra albums came on and we took our leave. Maybe I need to mature 20 or 30 years to truly appreciate the place.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and went to Havana Nights both nights. The first night was ladies night and the bar was full. We had appetizers (scallops and salmon, both were excellent) and a glass of wine. Service was excellent, the piano guy was very good. I liked his classical music although some in our party wanted more up to date. The next night we got to the bar around 9ish and the kitchen was closed so we just had dessert. No one else was there and the piano guy had left. I guess that's what you get when its off season. We didn't mind though. We had the place to ourselves. Its a very cozy bar. We would go back again.
