My wife and I got a few friends together and rented from Cannon Marina a 24' Southwind Deck boat. We had a lovely afternoon cruising around Anna Maria Island and into Sarasota Bay.On our return to the gas dock a young attendant filled the tank, noted our gas usage and moved the boat to another dock. Just after we left Cannons I realized that I had left my camera onboard the boat(in a drink holder at the helm). Just after we left the Marina closed for the day. I called and left a message as to where to look for my camera. I called again just as they opened the next morning. They went to the boat and found no camera. I know where I left the camera...........so who took it. I would have posted some pictures of our trip on this review but someone else has my camera. My hope would have been that Cannons management would have been more assertive in trying to find out what happened to my camera. There was no call back and no apology. Not a happy customer.

Rented a super boat for a full day fishing, ten people, including four under twelves.Boat was very luxurious and comfortable with plenty of places to sit if required. Clear maps etc were provided and easy to follow..When suitable, put foot down and went very fast , which went down well with everyone.We all caught a variety of fish, identified for us by our biologist dad and the children enjoyed seeing the fish close up. Docked carefully for a delicious lunch then slowly made our way back in the sunshine ..perfect end of a lovely relaxing nd fun day.Staff helpful, informative and friendly.We are having another trip with them in April when we are in Florida again.Well recommended

We had made a reservation for a 20' boat over a month ago in anticipation of a long weekend visit to Longboat Key. Close to trip time, the weather was looking iffy so we called to cancel the reservation. The folks at Cannons suggested that we stop by if the weather looked good and chances were they would have a boat available. That is exactly what we did - we ended up renting a 20 footer for two days, enjoyed beautiful weather and had the boat back at the dock by the time the afternoon thunderstorms hit. The folks at Cannons were super friendly and great to work with - will rent again when in the area!

We are regular visitors to Sarasota and like to get out on the water. We rented a beautiful brand new 20' Grady White Centre Console from Cannons Marina. When we arrived everything was ready, fully fuelled and in perfect condition. all the team at Cannons were friendly and helpful. Our day out on the Sarasota Bay was a great success and we can't wait to rent again in October. Thank you to Cannons Marina for everything and see you soon!

I have been a customer of Cannon's Marina for several years. As a life long boat owner, I have dealt with several marinas and dealers. Cannons is by far the best at service, sales, and customer service in general. Highly recommended.

Rented a boat for a week an the weather was such that we couldn't use it and the water so rough we couldn't return it.April not only sent someone to pick up the boat but refunded our payment.These people know how to un a business and we'll definitley rent from them in the future.PaulLake Forest

We had the opportunity to rent a boat here twice this past week, and had a great experience each time. The service was good across the board. April did a nice job checking us in, provided instructions on the map, and suggested some nice spots where you could take the boat for lunch. The boats were both in very good condition, the the price for the experience seemed appropriate as well. We look forward to returning again next year.

I want to start by saying that we have been renting boats here for the past 2 years with a friend who sets it all up and we come along as guests of his. Yesterday, we rented without our friend and went out on our own, so, you could say this is our first true rental.The service at the desk was awesome, the young lady was professional and very informative and friendly. The boat was nice! ( we originally booked the 20 ft deck boat, but received the 24 ft deck boat to the smaller one needing some service. It was a nice upgrade.The dock assistant was less than professional, however. He was young, grumpy and seemed to really hate his job, or even worse- the customers.The day on the water was amazing. Towards the end of our trip we saw a storm on the horizon and decided to head back to the marina. We pulled in just in time to hand our boat off to the same "friendly" dock assistant. As we pulled in I was trying to joke with him saying that we just made it time for the monsoon, and he wasn't amused. He grumbled something like "I wasn't worried about you guys, I was just worried about my boat". WOW. How do you respond to that?Any ways, we unloaded the boat, paid for the gas and were unable to leave due to the strong wind, heavy rain and lightning. We were invited in by the store staff to wait out the rain and made some fun conversation with a few employees...once the rain let up we left for home.All in all it was a great experience. Too bad one bad apple had to leave us with such a nasty impression. We will be back, we will just try to avoid Mr. Sunshine, I guess...

My family rented a boat from Cannon's yesterday and couldn't be happier. The boat was in perfect condition and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We spent a half day tubing - they rent tubes as well which is a major plus for the kids - and cruising from Longboat Key to Siesta Key. I highly recommend Cannon's for renting and when we are back we will visit again.

Boat we received for the day was in very good condition and was perfect to our needs, however it should have been given the price. We ended up having a really good day in the boat, so as a day out this is 5/5. However, the staff both in reception and on the dock were not very cheerful and bordered on rude, and ruined it a bit. Great day but this loses a star because of the staff.

My husband got me a boat rental from Cannons for my birthday and -- wow -- what a great treat! Living in the area, we go to the beach often but we rarely get out on the water. I have to say, the beauty of the area is multiplied by 100 when you get out out on a boat. We even saw two manatees! The boat we rented from Cannons was very nice - clean and ran very well. The guy who rented us the boat was extremely polite and offered us some suggestions on where to go. He also told us which restaurants we could boat to. If you ever need an extra-special birthday gift, a boat rental from Cannons is a great idea. Awesome experience!

Cannons has the best customer service and choice of boats. The service manager, Angela, is very helpful and knowledgeable about the boats and motors they handle and service.

Great baot dealer with rentals too! You should be aware of the shoals in the canals...it was a little dicey on that level. Otherwise a great experience, great quality rental boat.

Rent a boat for the day to really explore the bay. Cannons is efficient with a good selection of boats and accessories. Helpful staff will plan your day. Call in advance to get the size boat you need.
