We took a half day trip by car from Neptune Beach to Amelia Island by car. If you take the byways it takes you about an hour to get there and on the route you have the ferry across st John's river, which is a nice ride. Amelia island is nice. Go to Center Street and walk down this street and enjoy the souvenir shops along with the coffeebars and clothing shops.

My husband and I drove to Neptune Beach from Brunswick, GA because St Simon Island and Sea Island had no beaches we could find. (did not get to Jekyll Island so don't know what they have). I just wanted some time on the beach for Memorial Day weekend. We got there around 9am and we immediately found parking at the Seahorse Inn for $ 5.00 !!!!!! Walked right onto the beach. Sand was white and very soft......and we happen to be there at low tide so the beach was huge !!!! Seemed to be mostly families. Very clean and there was a lifeguard on duty. Only down side was the access we used did not have a shower to rinse off the sand before getting into the car. We will definitely be back !!!!

This beach is very dog friendly and also has some great restaurants nearby. Al's Pizza is my favorite, although the Lemon Bar and Pete's Bar also are good!

There is one hotel in Neptune Beach, the rest of the shore is lined with private residences. The same sand and ocean as Jax Beach just a kittle less crowded on Weekends.

Neptune Beach is convenient, clean, and you can walk, wheel or bicycle to everything. Some of the best places to dine and shop are just a block off the beach. It's ideal for all ages and has such a nice 'little home town' feel with most buildings only two stories tall.

I have several friends who live out this way and there is always something to do. The bars and environment are great in Neptune. Neptune and Jax are more so your partying beaches and Atlantic is where you go to relax.

Great little residential beach community....nicely put between Jax and Atlantic Beach...great blend. Wise poiliticians...great Mayor!

Again, the beaches in this area are just beautiful. They are clean, big, lots of families, surfers, walkers, runners and sunbathers. I love this area

Lots of room on the beach and its well maintained. Clean beach with natural landscape, sea oats backing it. Plenty of nice places within walking distance. Quaint little town!G Man
