Full of history and drama. A must for anyone who has ever competed in Lincoln Douglas debate. The drive was nice and the time was well spent

Shows how the town has grown and how it's past was against slavery 50 years before the Civil War. Good photos and docent was knowledgeable.

The guide met us at the door and took us on a walk through. We were able to see many historic items and also watch several videos available. Lots of brochures and suggestions also.

Aside from being a small informative museum, there is a public restroom. The house has been lovingly restored and tourists can find information about local attractions as well as Brandon. Worth a stop!

Great little house with interesting details about both Brandon, VT and Stephen Douglas. Saw a super video about Brandon's role in the Civil War. The house has some interesting features - original windows and staircase. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. The guide was very kind and helpful and guided us to the information and details that we were particularly interested in . He also told us about the destruction and the subsequent repairs from Hurricane Irene and how the damage was very similar to the damage from the 1938 hurricane.

The Chamber did a very nice job of restoring this building located on US Route 7 at the north end of Brandon, VT. Very nice displays documenting Brandon's history. During the summer months there are docents volunteering their time to aid visitors in making the most of their visit to the building and Brandon.

Although not a destination type attraction, we were in the area and like history and couldn't pass this up. Although small, it has a very good little museum on both Douglas and Brandon and we learned quite a bit. Volunteer was very knowledgable.

There's not much here, in fact the only real artifact is a chest of drawers made by Douglas. (Never knew he apprenticed as a cabinetmaker as a teen.) But the exhibits told us about Douglas and Brandon's role in the abolitionist movement. Even though I teach US History, I learned a good bit about both and my appetite to learn more was stoked.

A cute, historic home with high-tech video shows. The volunteers at the museum were fabulous. I learned a lot about Stephen Douglas and last fall's flood from Hurricane Irene. Can't beat the public restrooms open most of the day.
