I wanted to buy my sister and myself a ride on a sleigh ride for a christmas Gift for her, Fairview Horse farm was the nearest farm offering sleigh rides. I looked over their website it seemed like a fair deal ten dollars per person I called and left a message. Five days later the owner called me back it was only then I was informed I would have to rent a whole entire 27 passenger sleigh for seventy five dollar each person. When I asked the owner about the ten dollar per person on the website she said oh well that's only if you have a party of 27 people Which was never mentioned on the website so one would assume that you would be sharing the sleigh with other visitors at the farm not renting a private sleigh. I personally feel that their website was misleading and needed to be more specific on the fact that the sleigh rides are private rental not for just one or two people who want to go on a ride with other people. Very disappointed I will search for a company who wants to do something more then just make an extra buck or two.

Had a wonderful hayride with Jay Bailey. My 3 children (ages 6, 4 and 2) all enjoyed it too. They threw sticks for Oby the dog and sat upfront on the wagon ride. Jay answered the hundreds of questions my 4 year old had!

We ended up at Fair Winds Farm after searching for a sleigh ride in southern Vermont and discovering that many of them are $60 or more, which was out of our price range for a 1/2 hour diversion. The cost at Fair Winds Farm was $15 each, with a minimum price of $75 for a private excursion (which we decided to do). This is a working farm and Jay (the owner) uses his beautiful Suffolk Punch draft horses for all the field work. Our sleigh was pulled by Charlie and Phoebe, with Jay holding the reins and his young grandson Jonas as co-pilot. Our trip took us through the woods and over hill and dale. It was beautiful. Although the temperature was barely 30 degrees, we were warm and cozy nestled in a big pile of hay, with warm blankets to keep out the chill. While we trotted along, Jay told us a little about the horses they raise and the farm that he so clearly loves. It was a wonderful adventure and I will do it again if I get the chance.
