Basically this is no longer a fully functioning bridge and only a tourist stop with a photo opportunity.I think you lose something when you change the function of the bridge. It still is a lovely bridge, but for my money I would rather visit a fully functioning bridge. There are several in the area that are still fully functioning bridges and that is where I would go for a true VT covered bridge experience.
It is just a small stop for ten minutes or so but since Vermont is well known for it's covered bridges I am glad we did stop
2nd time I have visited and took pics the first time so I could paint for my cousin who lives In Brattleboro. this time took my husband, great that you can walk through such a landmark.
This a beautiful example of one of Vermont's Covered Bridges. It is worth visiting, but it isn't an easy bridge to get a decent photo of. However it is still worth visiting.A little further up the hill into Memorial Park, there is a smaller Covered Bridge for kids to play on. There are other things for kids too including an outdoor pool; and a ski slope for the snow season.
Another important part of our Vermont trip is the Creamery Covered Bridge which was built in 1879. It is just a short way from, and in between, Vermont Country Deli and Living Memorial Park. We have been there at all times of the year, fall is always a sensational time. In years past we have even made snow angels on the banks of the brook. The bridge crosses Whetstone Brook and up to just a few years ago carried vehicular traffic on a single lane. Now it is just a foot bridge, but wonderful anyway. The immediate area has been developed more into a park making it easier to enjoy without the threat of cars. It is exactly what you would expect in Vermont. It is worth the stop and spending a few moments with this piece of history.
It's ok, but it is an old wooden bridge, with modern additions, glad we saw it, but it's somewhere you go for 10 minutes.
We stopped here to take photos of the bridge and surrounding area. It is a very well kept area and as it was a lovely, sunny day we were able to take several photos. The grounds are nicely kept, with flowers and some memorial style markers. The bridge is very short, and is only open for foot traffic. Well worth the time to visit.
The Creamery Covered Bridge is definitely worth seeing and is quite easy to find. Located right off one of the major roads in Brattleboro, this bridge is a lovely sight. There is even a short description nearby to explain the history of the bridge.
One of the covered bridges that has no vehicles passing through so you can park near it and walk through both the bridge and the pedestrian walk of the bridge. Great opportunity for photos. It's near a public park.
If you are in or passing through Brattleboro, the Creamery Covered Bridge is definitely worth a stop. You can get some nice photos on the bridge and of the bridge. The bridge is difficult to find, however. We drove past it at least twice before finally locating it. (And we were using our GPS.) GPS was bringing us to the correct location - the bridge was just not readily apparent from Rt 9. My tip to you is to look for Living Memorial Park - and then you will spot the bridge. Past the park on Route 9, there is a small unmarked parking area, sort of in a grassy area. It is next to an unmanned Information Booth. Park there, and it's only a short walk to the bridge.
Very pretty you can no longer drive across, making it a beautiful place to walk and take pictures. Minimal parking nearby. Easy to find its a classic Vermont Covered bridge.
We stop here every year. Its a great place for a photo op and its always beautiful in the fall! Good for a quick 15 minute stop.
Brattleboro, Vermont, was once known for having the most covered bridges in all of Vermont. Now only the Creamery Bridge remains. It is well maintained and no longer allows vehicular traffic. It makes for a great place to have a picnic or just sit and remember the simpler times. We chose it as a site for our simple wedding, which was perfect. While Vermont offers many beautiful and wonderful sights, we found The Creamery Bridge a simple and elegant way to enjoy this most beautiful state. There is no charge for attending and the place is simple and quiet.
