Spent 4 days in the Cherry Cottage and loved it. Pleasant park staff, clean comfortable cottage, and such a wonderful setting. Wish we'd found this year's ago when our kids were young! Kayaked in Echo Lake from within the park as well as Lake Rescue just to the south and Lake Amherst just to the north. (Both have public boat launches). Hiked the park's short Vista trail and were treated to a nice overlook of the lake. Also drove to My Ascutney for a longer hike. Park has many amenities and water was crisp and clean. Loved it. Thank you!

Go hereRebut a kayak and a paddle board and just have fun. Clean lake for swimming and cooling off. Bring your own food the concession stand is weak at best. But a grant way to spend a sunny day in Vermont. The hike is really nice and well marked. Good old fashion family fun

This park has everything you need! You can rent kayaks, canoes, stand-up boards, camping spaces, etc. Plenty of picnic tables and grills for a family get-together :)Whether you are here for a picnic or a camping trip, you will not be disappointed. Camp Plymouth is not far from the highway and very easy to find. There is a small fee for parking, $4 I think? Park staff was very helpful and I could see they are great with kids

We stayed at the park for a week in the Cherry cottage. The cottage seemed like it had recently been updated and was nice. It had a coffee pot, microwave, toaster oven and stove top. (There is not an actual oven though - so plan your meals accordingly). It was super quiet and situated far enough from the rest of the activity of the park that there was no conflict. My only "ding" is that the bed was not very comfortable. I LOVED that there was a brook and the woods right out the back. The park itself has a nice beach, very clean lake and a short and pretty trail up to the top of the closest mountain. Lots of activities for the family such as horse shoes, kayaking, paddle boat, volleyball. If you rent a cottage, you get free access to a canoe. There is a cost for the paddle boats and kayaks, but we didn't bother given that we had the canoe. The park rangers and volunteers we dealt with were all very nice and attentive.

Great place to take kids and have a cookout, use the paddle boats and just swim. Also a fun place to have a family reunion.

Logging trail and gold mining. Waterfront and cemetery. History and scenic beauty. Camp Plymouth is one of those rare spots that bring us closer to our country's heritage. You can feel the history seeping from the ground.

What a beautiful view from high up in the hills. The staff is very friendly and even allowed us to bend the rules a bit when we had more guests on our site than the rules allow. Sites are spacious clean and very private. Showers and toilets are cleaned regularly. Nice hiking trails right off of the park.

This is a wonderful State Park located on Echo Lake in Plymouth, VT. It is a wonderful setting that has a playground for the kids, rental boats (paddle, kayak), volleyball nets, grills, a sand beach with swimming (no life guard), a concession stand and lots of shade or sun for every need. They have two pavilions that can be rented for events such as large family get togethers, weddings etc. and a few cabins that can also be rented. It's a beautiful setting, very peaceful and a great place to 'vege' alone, with friends or family.

Plymouth State Park is a fine area for a picnic and barbecue along with a great swimming and boating area. It has fine recreational features for the kids.

I was very impressed from the start. Day fee very inexpensive, only $5 for one adult and one child. The attendant handed us a bag for our trash as the park is carry in, carry out. Lots of parking and the bathrroms were even clean (and had changing rooms with curtains). Beach was good sized, and there were many picnic tables all around on the lawn. Some were in the shade, which would be a nice option if the day was hot. Many people were fishing, and several rented kayaks, canoes, or paddle boats. We enjoyed the water, which was clear and weed-free at beach area. There is a smaller, roped-off spot in the shallow water for little ones. The entire grounds were immaculate, other than a little goose poo in grass. We will be back!

Whether you spend the day at the park or not, The Vista Trail is worth the short hike to look over the lake and area. It is great exercise for the half mile up and half mile return. There were young children doing the hike and I would imagine that the hike gave them a sense of adventure, thinking that they were in the wilderness. The trail is listed moderate difficulty. There are some areas that are hilly over roots and rocks but I'm not in any great physical condition and made it up easily. The trail is well marked with blue blazes. I recommend having a water bottle always while hiking. The hike down took very little time so you need not think you have to save lots of energy for the return. This is a fun family activity. We saw young kids, teenagers, adults including seniors on the trail. If you don't go into Camp Plymouth and park up near the trail head there is no charge for the hike. The park does have a fee for the beach/picnic area if you want to make a day of it.

This is a great place for kids and adults. We rented paddle boats and took the kids around for a ride. Then they swam for a bit and played in the sand. We got some food from the snack stand and let the kids play on the playground which is a nice newer metal structure.

We have used the park a number of times, enjoyed it. Boats available for rent. Careful in early June, as the black flies can drive you batty. There is a free weekend in June, where ALL the state parks in VT are fun to see.

When the Boy Scout council closed Camp Plymouth, The state acquired one of the best beaches with a really long shallow swimming area great for families. the walk from the parking area is a little long, but they do offer wagons to cary your stuff. The bay on the north side offers good paddle boating away from speed boats in the lake. Plenty of camping and cabins to stay the weekend. There are good trails, a cemetary and old roads to follow if you get bored. Yes, there is gold in the stream, but you got to know what you are doing. Still it is fun to try.

We had a wonderful time here with our children. We rented a canoe, swam, played on the playground, got food at the cafe, and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it!
