We love this beer!! As a result we have several empty growlers in desperate need of filling. Unfortunately, we can never get there when they are open. We will try again this weekend. Great beer, worth the effort.
My partner and I embarked on the "unofficial" brewery passport adventure earlier this year and have slowly chipped away at it. Kingdom Brewing was a pleasant stop on this journey as they offer a wide profile of beer options. My favorite is the high apv beer made from tree sap. For 5$ they let you taste 4 different beers so we each did the tasting and were able to try the full array. When I have a cooler I will certainly be back for a growler!!
I've read that there are more breweries per capita in Vermont than in any other state. One more good reason to brave the winters in order to live here. On a recent 'beer hunting' trip we found ourselves at the end of a long dirt drive in Newport Center tasting and talking beer with folks who are both knowledgable and passionate about the subject. Kingdom Brewing is a very small brewery with a very small tasting room run by and for people who love beer. Each of the eight brews they had on tap was excellent in its own way. We left with a growler of their cherry Skinny B**ch--Trip Adviser won't let me use the word-- (which the owner assured me is named for a certain beloved but scrawny female dog) This isn't the place for the Budwieser crowd, but if you love real beer, then it's worth going a little out of your way to get here.
While visiting Jay Peak Mountain Resort we noticed the hotel was offering a brewery tour to Kingdom Brewing and signed up at the front desk. The package through the hotel is $15.00 per person and includes a round trip shuttle to the brew farm as well as a full 16 oz. pint glass to keep with their logo. The tour starts with Brian and Jenn pouring a starting sample for guests to enjoy while being introduced to the brewing process. Brian is very friendly and informative, and it is especially interesting listening to him describe the flavors of each beer. The tour ends with a generous amount of time in the small pub section of the farm where you can sample as much as your heart desires - seven beers on tap during our recent visit. Growlers and merchandise are available for purchase, I recommend the Sour Apple - it is amazing! They do accept credit cards as a payment method which is nice, and they are fabulous company. If we are back at Jay Peak next year we will return for more Sour Apple!
