did not know you could even review something like this - but it's actually super cool! This is just tangible evidence of the really strong arts community in Burlington and the surrounding area. Each September, there's a great arts weekend called the South End Art Hop. As a part of this, outdoor artwork is created for the weekend, and often remains for years afterwards, just like this tower of filing cabinets. If you liked this, check out the Buddha painted on a brick wall on Pine Street not too far away. This tower of filing cabinets is one of my favorites. It's also on the way to Oakledge Park and the bike path - perfect!
If you happen to be driving through the recesses of the crumbling industrial neighborhood in which this stands, it's worth a glance.
While on a Burlington, Vt brew tour our driver pulled over and let us take a photo with the world's tallest filing cabinet. There's not much to say in this review because it's only just a really tall filing cabinet in a random location; however, it's worth seeing because it's fun, it's memorable and it makes a great photo (we are thinking of using this as our Christmas card this year.)
We visited Burlington on a rainy day so there was not a whole lot going on in the area other than open shops and the mall. Found this listed on trip advisor and decided to find it. It's in a back creepy section of the town, but worth the visit. Where else will you see something like this?
My husband laughed at me for weeks that I had this attraction on our list of places to check out in Vermont. I'm glad we drove past. It's a cool thing to see.
While visiting the Lake Champlain Chocolate store, noticed this was close by and we drove by. Had to take a picture of it.
Go see this. Its worth it because there is plenty of other things to do too. Burlington is such a great place.
It's tall, rusty, in the weeds, and the lower levels are hard to open. Conveniently located between downtown and the Magic Hat brewery. I loved it! Or maybe that was all the free samples at Magic Hat...
Whoever made this had a lot of metal filing cabinets- and a creative vision. Don't think of this as the destination- but rather that the life-size push pin that tells you - "I am so close (as in walking distance) to many many cool places!
It's just as it sounds. A tall filing cabinet. It's kind of off the beaten path in Burlington. Honestly, it's not worth much more than a drive by viewing. You'll see what you need to see in the 5 seconds it takes to drive by.
What is cool about a stack of rusty old filing cabinets welded together sitting in a field? Is it art? Kitsch? You decide.
The locals were very helpful and the cabinet was as advertised ... Tall. The landscaping was a little poorly kept but other than that go see it
Who knew there was a tallest file cabinet? Takes 10 min and worth 15! Kids will love you for it! Makes the fighting stop for at least an hour
It is fun just to say you have seen it and been there but I don't think I would go out of my way to see it again unless I had visitors and wanted to show them something unique.
In a world of over-stimulation and hyper-tourism with over-priced admission, the World's Tallest Filing Cabinet is a refreshing attraction that all Burlington visitors must see. Right off city center, it's a quick drive on a quiet road. My boyfriend and I pulled over, snapped a shot, marveled at the height and then promptly insta'd a pic. Memories, accomplished.
