The Postmark Museum and Research Library is most likely the best kept secret in northern Ohio. It is part of the complex known as Historic Lyme Village, located at the junction of Ohio State Routes 113 and 4. Contains well-over one million postmarks and other related postal history material. Hundreds of albums, rows and rows of file cabinets housing postmarks, philatelic covers, post office photos, and other related material. Entrance to this museum is FREE if you happen to visit there during the time the museum is open and volunteers at working in the museum. Otherwise, it is part of the tour of Historic Lyme Village, and there is a small charge for that. Lyme Village is also a very interesting place, but there is no doubt the Postmark Museum is the unique attraction here. Serious postal history researchers would call this place Heaven or Mecca! DON'T MISS IT IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA!
This museum is located in the Historic Lyme Village. It is run by PMCC the Post Mark Collectors Club and is staffed by volunteers so it is open when posted when there are volunteers there and visits can also be scheduled for postal historians. It is a one of a kind collection and a must for people into stamps and postmarks. I realize a limited audience but for those people it will be of great interest.
