I just walked out of the museum and my mind is totally blown. So much cool stuff. First off the car collection was amazing. Then you add on all the cool stuff around it and it is hard to take it all in. Totally worth the money, which by the way was not that much to get in $7.50. So much history and great cars. They have a Superbird if that tells you anything about how cool this collection is. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!
Great Museum and tons of memorobilia!Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Don't miss a chance to stop by.
This is not just an auto museum ~ it is a look into the history of Canton and surrounding areas. We loved the police car from the 1930's that was armored! The Packard Hearse & Flower Car is just so unique. They had been sold and finally reunited at this museum. Take the time to see the wonderful collections here.
You get to walk down a center aisle between two rows of cars. It's like you're viewing the corpse of a famous person. You can't walk around the vehicles. This could easily be formatted for a more intimate car-aficionado experience.
If you like early period cars, toys and memorabilia, this is a good place to visit. Spent a pleasant 2 hours walking though the various displays, reading the information provided and discussing the various memories the displays brought to mind. Provided a good view into early car development with a few later model cars on display.
It was not what I was expecting it was better. It had a copious amounts of classic cars, cool signs, toys, and cut outs. It's is worth the time to find this gem.
Forget your Austin-Martens, your Dusenbergs, your loaded Ferraris. This is a car museum for the driver, for the family who hit the highways and byways and small town trappings that lured them in along the way. There's a Model T, a classic Mustang, Packards, Pierces and Studebakers and several Ohio-produced cars, and lots of local memorabilia like restaurants hanging menus and old amusement park rides and lots and lots of old roadside advertising. The museum is loaded with stuff. It would probably take several visits, or several hours, to see everything. They call themselves a memorabilia museum, and it's easy to see why. A feast for the eyes. Just a fun way to spend some time in Canton.
I grew up in Canton and never visited the Classic Car Museum but after returning 30 years later I wish I would have visited it a long long time ago. It should be called the Canton Car Hall of Fame!
My husband and I took my parents to see the museum. Even though I grew up not more than 15 minutes from here, this was our first time visiting. We were all very impressed, esp my husband and my dad! They really enjoyed it! My husband actually read every placard, which never ever ever happens in a museum. I couldn't believe how much other memorabilia was there as well. Lots of neat, interesting things to see! And the man at the front desk was super friendly and helpful!
The canton car museum has a several nice collectible cars but I was most impressed with the amount of local memorabilia. The museum is nicely laid out and packed with signs, models, advertisements and such from local business related to the automotive industry. There is a section of the museum devoted to the Lincoln Highway which goes through Canton, Ohio.
This museum has more than cars, they have many antiques too. There are things everywhere to look at. For kids, they have clipboards they can use and do a scavenger hunt. This was fun and kept the kids from getting bored. Also, the people working there were really friendly and informative.
Is it cold out, or you just need something interesting to do, got to check this out. not only does it have cars but alot of neat items
The cars are amazing, but the memorabilia and staff make the place fun for all. Worth an hour or two after that other Canton museum.
It was so much more than an auto museum - lots of historical memorabilia. We were lucky enough to join a tour given my 'Char'; she told stories about the various pieces and really made the history come alive.
We were looking for something to do in Canton on a Sunday (much of the attractions were closed) and found ourselves at the Classic Car Museum. There's a free parking lot in the back and they take a AAA discount (they also have a coupon for 15% off the whole group if you go to their website and print it in advance.) The museum is small, we spent about an hour, and is filled with a mix of antique cars and random things like old radios, car dealership signs and old toys. The museum is quite musty inside, but we still enjoyed it. It's a nice thing to add onto a trip if you're already in the area for another reason.
