Full disclosure – the foursome that I golf with likes to play golf for the fun of playing golf. We look for nice well-maintained courses but at the same time, we look for affordable courses. We don’t play many of the higher end / highly manicured courses but generally stick with the smaller but still well managed and well maintained courses.Table Rock is one of my top 2 or 3 favorite courses in the area. It is still family owned and operated and is very reasonably priced with weekday rates of $18 walking or $25 w/ a cart and weekend rates of $22 walking or $32 w/ a cart (before 11:00 AM). It is another of the many Central Ohio courses designed by Jack Kidwell. One of my favorite things about Table Rock has nothing to do with golf – but is their Clubhouse. They have a very comfortable club house with typical golf course fare – hot dogs, chips, pop, beer, etc. but they also serve a grilled version of a fried bologna sandwich that makes you look forward to “making the turn”. In addition, they offer grilled chicken sandwiches, burgers, etc. They have the Clubhouse menu and phone number posted at the 9th tee so you can call your order in and they’ll have it ready when you get to the turn. This is a beautiful course with fairways that are fairly open but with enough trees to offer a challenge. The recent loss of 200-300 ash trees has dramatically changed the look of a number of holes, especially on the back nine. There’s also plenty of water to grab a few golf balls. The bunkers could use some attention – we generally take a free drop out of the sand traps.Table Rock recently introduced FOOT-GOLF – something played with a soccer ball and a 15” cup.
