I took several men from a church group to visit. It was awesome. The volunteer from the museum was quite knowledgeable. Very interesting and a pleasure to visit.
The pride of the volunteers and the mechanics who restore these Warbirds is evident. We spent a good two hours learning about how the aircraft were acquired and repaired. In addition to the aircraft are vehicles (beautiful automobiles as well as military utility vehicles) which represent the same era. Hours of operation are quite limited so plan accordingly. If you are a veteran, you will be discounted on your entry fee.
If you like WWII aircraft you have to check out the Tri-State Warbird Museum. They have beautifully restored aircraft like at T6-Texan, Stearman, P-51D Mustang, TBM Avenger, B-25 Mitchell, and a couple others being restored. These aircraft just shine! They also have a very nice WWII artifact collection and offer guided tours by staff that are both friendly and full of knowledge. A trip to the Tri-State Warbird Museum is well worth the visit!
I have visited this museum several times with my dad (Navigator/Bombardier on a B-24 Liberator.) I find it fascinating, and he finds it nostalgic and accurate. There is a larger area with historical objects - including a barracks you can walk into - and a 24,000 sq ft hangar with restored planes you can view up close and personal. Check their website for dates of special events when you can see the planes flying! This is a Must Stop if you are interested in aviation, WWII, or even just near the US 32 exit off I-275 on the east side of Cincinnati. Highly recommended!
