The native american artifacts are amazing! We also enjoyed the childrens art that was on display and the asian room

Asian Treasures, natural history and a friendly, informative staff. Gift Shop was a bit sparse. Temporary exhibits make you want to return.

The wonderful museum is located right in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village. It has a large Native American Gallery and even houses the Newark Holy Stones. They have different special exhibits throughout the year along with different educational programs for the entire family. This is truly a must see in Coshocton, Ohio!

First time visit, will not be my last ! Amazing Asian room which is a permanent display, pieces are in great condition, lighting is very good to show the vases and other pieces ! Have seen pieces likened to these at New York Metropolitan Art and Houston Museums ! There is also a very good Pioneer Section of household items and farming tools that is an ongoing display. The revolving display room is exchanged 4-5 times a year to show local student art work and adult artisans of the area. Possibly the most talked about item is the Newark Holy Stones, which were discovered in 1860 at the Newark,Oh digs. Where did they come from ? It is a mystery ! This museum is well worth a couple of hour visit when in Historic Roscoe Village.

I was amazed at the vast collection of unusual artifacts from all over the world. The "advertising tin" exhibit was awesome. Little did I know that it all began in Coshocton, Ohio.

Beautiful and educational. I love there are people that still keep things like this alive. Thank you so much

My family recently wen to this museum and I was pleasantly surprised at its variety. My son's favorite room was the Asian room with all the samurai swords and the samurai statue. I enjoyed the Native american room that combined local native american artifacts and artifacts found throughout the US. Great museum experience overall, especially for a small town.

This museum contained unexpected and unusual things. On the second floor available by the winding staircase or the elevator, there is an exhibit of Chinese and Japanese things that the were collected during the travels of these folks. My favorite was a cobalt blue necklace from Russia. I had never seen stones like that before. The men must have traveled the world as there were things from all over you would not expect in a small town in Ohio.

I have been to this museum twice. It is a small museum but has many interesting things. The antique firearms collection is really neat. I also liked the other exhibits but that was my favorite. The traveling exhibit was artistic quilts. The quilts were pretty amazing. The best deal to go is buying the ticket as an add-on to a Roscoe Village tour. It is only $1.50 versus $4.

This is, for the most part, a fair local museum; the main-level exhibits of Native American crafts and pioneer-era Ohio life are okay, but not especially noteworthy. The small Civil War exhibit, as well as a gallery of contemporary textile art, were more interesting although I believe both are temporary displays. But the gallery of Chinese and Japanese art on the second floor is simply fantastic. It may not be a world-class exhibit, but the breadth and quality are both impressive, and just about the last thing one would expect to find in a small Ohio town. The Johnson brothers were apparently both discerning and motivated as collectors. For this gallery, alone, the museum is definitely worth your time and the price of admission, and would be worth the trip to Coshocton even if there were no other attractions to see.
