This is a traditional tree lined golf course. It is well maintained and the rangers typically keep the pace of play moving. This is my "go to" course for a relatively inexpensive round of golf. A side note, the "Hawkdogs" are a highlight. The course has a practice range and a practice putting green, the pro shop is well stocked and the staff is helpful.

Full disclosure – the foursome that I golf with likes to play golf for the fun of playing golf. We look for nice well-maintained courses but at the same time, we look for affordable courses. We don’t play many of the higher end / highly manicured courses but generally stick with the smaller but still well managed and well maintained courses.This is one of many courses in Central Ohio designed by Jack Kidwell. This is a challenging course with lots of elevation changes. The course is well maintained and well groomed. Blackhawk is one of the few courses with well maintained sand traps. Their bunkers are in better shape than most courses this summer.Blackhawk is a public course but also sells memberships. So if you like a play 1 course a lot, it might be beneficial to look into their memberships.
