This is a great resource in Columbiana County to get out, stretch your legs and get some exercise.....for free. I walk a few miles on it about 5 days a week, even in winter.
This trail is one of my favorites! It has a bit of an uphill climb from Lisbon to Leetonia but the ride back makes it worth it! The trail is paved and mostly smooth (the last 2 miles before Leetonia get a little bumpy). It is not overcrowded but does get good use by walkers, runners and bikers alike. I just wish this was closer to my house!
This trail is a great place to ride quiet and peaceful it does need some attention at the Fairfield to Leetonia and the street ride though Leetonia is awfully bumpy. there is a place for ice cream at Donna bike shop where u can also rent bikes. It does have limited hours and is right down at the start in Lisbon There is also a Dairy Queen in Leetonia on the same side that the parking is on. Another thing is if you ride to the railway station in Lisbon they have a nice restroom there with running water, a soda machine and an air pump for a quarter there are also picnic tables there. It's a nice stop!
We walked part of the trail and thoroughly enjoyed the heavily wooded, quiet scenery and the filtered sunlight. It would be fun to enjoy by bicycle. The scenery changes and keeps you engaged. Great for photographs and relaxing.
Because of rain, I did only a small portion of the trail but it was secluded, heavily wooded, and paved (not stone dust). I would consider a 5 rating if the pavement were in better condition and if I had seen an ice cream stand! Seriously, they need to do a little maintenance on the pavement. It's OK but showing its age with a few very rough spots.
This trail was perfect. We set out for a morning bike ride from Lisbon. The trail was well-shaded, nice and cool, with more sun coming through in the afternoon. We did a little geocaching along the whole length of the trail. The scenery changes quite a bit, giving you a lot to look at, including a neat little covered bridge (if you want to take a slight detour). We have ridden this trail twice now and have said great things after each ride. Highly recommended!!
We take our three children and two dogs here multiple times during the Spring, Summer and Fall. We always get amazing photographs and the kids get to burn off energy. I walk with a stroller, the kids and my husband ride bicycles and we are always greeted by passers-by.
As people in their 50's now we enjoy getting our exercise the easy way, sitting on a bike and riding at a leisurely pace on a nice scenic bike or hike trail. This is one of the prettiest trails we discovered last year since starting to ride bicycles. The trail is paved between Leetonia and Lisbon, OH. You want to try and ride this trail in the fall as the fall leave change colors are outstanding. There is even a nice covered bridge you can see if you take a short detour. There is a nice little old diner located a few blocks near downtown Lisbon where you can get something to eat or drink at economical price. We are definitely returning to ride this trail again soon! A short drive from Lisbon is a nice little state park called Beaver Creek where you can check out a small village that shows what it was like in the pioneer days. This is a beautiful trail for bikers and hikers. Can bike from one end to the other in a few hours. The Dairy Queen in Leetonia is a great place to bike to for a rest before heading back down the trail. Great places to park.
Love the quiet all seasons of the year. Spring and winter is my favorite. Summer sometimes it gets too busy for me and an area is swampy so many bugs in the summer. It is maintained well also.
Great place to ride bikes and run. I've grown up in this area and I remember what it was like before it was paved. Now that it's paved it's a lovely place to get exercise.
I have been walking on the Bike Trail for years. It is beautiful, quiet, and a gem in Columbiana County.
The Greenway Trail is a gem in eastern Ohio just over the border from Western Pennsylvania. The well-maintained trail is ten miles in length with very little grade which makes it easy and enjoyable to ride for both novices and experienced cyclists. The 10-foot-wide trail is paved with asphalt and a small part of it is on a roadway (not more than a half mile). It crosses lightly-traveled roads in about six places. Mile markers help you keep track of progress. The trail wanders alongside the Beaver Creek, past farm land, sprawling meadows, and some rocky hills. About half of the trail is shaded by trees. The roughest stretch of the trail is between mile markers 8 and 9 where it passes through a swampy area. The trail is buckled throughout, most likely from the unstable ground and roots beneath the asphalt. There are also a couple rough bridges in this stretch. Entry points are available in various places: the town of Lisbon at the official head of the trail on S. Market Street (bathrooms are available); mile marker zero on S. Lincoln Avenue; near mile marker 6 (?); near mile marker 8; and at mile marker 10. Water is not available at the parking lots, except perhaps at the Market Street location. There's a bike shop at mile marker zero (Donna's Bicycle Shop). Most of the parking lots have porta johns. The trail is well-maintained and even includes easy access to a covered bridge.
Great scenery...Well maintained, A must do if you enjoy nature
