The products at Heini's are always fresh and delicious! We stock up on several cheeses every trip. They offer several varieties like including ordinary cheddar and swiss to many smoked flavors, and yogurt base cheeses as well. You can stand in line to sample most all the cheeses. The fudge is delicious as well as the beef jerkey.

I don't know about the reviews that complain about the "flavorless" cheese but this place is just the opposite of that. Affordable and VERY tasty cheese, unlike supermarket stuff. I actually made the mistake of buying too much and have been eating way too much cheese for the past few days, but can I even say that is a mistake?

We had a delightful older Amish gentleman provide us with all the the details on how to make cheese along with a few cute stories to keep us interested and intrigued. We also liked the hundreds of cheeses to sample and pick from. Great place to visit and shop.

This is where we go and visit for our cheeses, take our friends, find entertainment, pick up gifts and so on. Very interesting visit. Tours, free samples, and reasonably priced. We have been there several times and will go back.

They have a great variety of cheeses. Plus you can sample them all. This part was free. The prices wasn't far off so they seemed to be right on. You can take a tour of the cheese making process which is done onsite.I cannot attest to the crowds in the summer months but every time we visit this place is fairly empty.

Tour guide spoke with us and gave a good tour with just my husband and I attending at the time. Even though we got to the factory after the milk had all been processed, we were able to stop back the following morning and view the entire process as had been explained to us the day before.

Hint, try to visit later in the evening and not on a weekend. If you want to see them making cheese you will have to go earlier. Knowing this we stopped past Friday night an hour before closing. This gave us plenty of time to browse around without a lot of people and to try most of the samples of cheese to determine the ones we liked. I really liked their smoked cheddars. The cheese with rye was also interesting. Plenty of spreads and jams as well which we brought home with us.

The only one that has goat cheese, along with other cheese. All the cheese there are made there. It price nicely.

ran in on a weekday afternoon. not crowded, as I think it would be on the weekends especially in the fall for the leaves. They have every sample of the cheeses they sell. So you can try before you buy. Our favorite was the pepper jack and the sweet ones. Like blueberry, rainbow and peanut butter. resembles a creamy fudge. Don't pass them up. The tour was only talking about the process as they has already made the cheese needed for the day. So if you want to see that part go early in the day. We had fun anyway. They do sell ice cream and coffee and several other treats. Tip: go to Kauffmans bakery across the street.picture opp in front of the hand painted murals inside.

If you're planning to spend a couple of days or more in Amish country this is a fun stop, but don't drive any distance. Other than using Amish hand milked milk this is like any other cheese making factory. The store is like any other farm store in the Ohio countryside. We were hoping for more of an authentic Amish experience, eg how the Amish make cheese, but this is not it.

We did not take the tour, so my review is based only on the samples and the atmosphere. After sitting in Saturday afternoon traffic, we arrived to a huge line inside the shop. We were just looking to pick up a bit of cheese as a snack to take back to our bed and breakfast, and were told we would find a shorter line in the gift shop, which we did. After sampling the completely flavorless cheese, we decided the selections at our local gourmet grocery were much better, pricing on the maple syrup was also better through our local retail store.

My husband has been telling me about this place for years. We finally made a trip to drive (about an hour away) down to visit this wonderful place. Not only can you buy their cheeses, but you can sample them and take a free tour. They have over 30 different types of cheeses. They also sell candy, fudge, spices, meats and decor. This is a wonderful place to visit.

Have been by this place many times and just thought it was a place for tourist (like us) to stop. So we finally decided to stop. Very surprised, this is The Place for cheese. Must take a tour for the operation and see how the cheese is made. Would you believe the milk comes from hand milked cows? Never knew there were so many different kinds of cheese. If you like to try things this is the place, must be 50 different cheese samples. Also, you can purchase small packages of most of the products that they call "cheese ends" for a very good savings. This is a must stop destination when in Ohio's Amish country.

We first visited here several years ago and did the whole tour and cheese tasting thing, we loved this place. Through the years we have learned that they are pricier than Walnut Creek Cheese so that is where we buy most of our cheeses to bring home. My friend comes here to buy a certain cheese for her grandson so it is on our list of stops each trip. This is a great place to visit to try something new.
