We purchased this tour as a birthday gift for our kids, who turned 21 and 23.They LOVED the tour a lot.I paid for the photo package which included 30-40 photos. I paid for TWO packages. When the photos were emailed to me, I was quite disappointed to find about 8 of my kids. So in essence of paid about $13.00 for around 8 photos. And since I paid for two packages, I was expecting 60-80 photos, of my kids preferably. If you decide to go on the tour, forgo the photo package.
This was our 2nd zip line tour. We went to zip zone canopy tours last year (near Columbus). Zip zone allowed us to jump off backwards, twist around, and let our arms be free if we wanted. Common ground requires your arms up, no twisting, no cannonball or backwards take offs. It wasn't a big deal- we think the required position may allow you to go faster???PROBLEM: This was a big deal to me. We paid $87 per person. For that money I feel our guide should not have given us a face full of B.O. at each platform. Zoe does not shave and I assume she doesn't wear deodorant. That is fine if that is your thing but for God's sake- WEAR A SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT! At least the sleeves maybe block the armpit odor a little. This girl had no sleeves on and every time she came near us to lock or unlock our lines- Super BO right in our faces. There was no avoiding it. My poor son is only 10- being that he is shorter he was right at armpit level. All 4 of us smelled this girl. Again, if you choose to be natural fine, but DO NOT subject paying customers to your stink. It was offensive and for me, hard to deal with.Andrew and Zoe are nice, but I would request someone else to be your guide.
I can not rave about this enough. My husband, myself, and teenage daughter took the canopy tour. Was a little apprehensive since I understand this is a relatively new venture. While my husband is in excellent physical condition, I am not. I was concerned that this would be challenging enough for him and yet accessible for me. This was perfect. Charming and helpful guides. This is worth a stop.
This was my 4th Zip Line experience and by far the best! The number of zips as well as the aerial and spiral staircases and bridges are awesome! I did the tour with a group of colleagues (ages 27-60), but had so much fun, I am taking my kids and nieces (from England) this weekend! Despite being a new attraction, the tour guides were extremely well trained and safety conscious. I would highly recommend this wonderful experience.
My first time zip lining. The place is easy to get to from Northern Ohio. It is clean, lovely and well thought out. The staff are VERY professional and safety conscious. They are also fun and knowledgable. For a first timer, I was excited and a little nervious but after the ground lesson and first line, it was all excitement. On a beautiful Ohio day, try it you'll like it!!
I would highly recommend this location for zip lines. I have been to several different zip line locations both in the United States as well as other countries, and this was definitely one of the best. The guides are very helpful and safety conscious and the grounds where the zip lines are located are beautiful. There are a variety of zip lines and other challenges including a floating stair case. Everyone in our group had a great time!
Had an amazing experience at Common Ground Canopy Tours. Had zipped in Belize once before and was a bit nervous about this tour (7 zip lines!!). Had to complete Ground School, which was a great introduction and safety course, before starting the tour. Mike and Ethan were awesome guides!! The property is beautiful and our guides pointed out many features (coyote den was cool!). Cannot wait to return and experience the different seasons while zipping at Common Ground. #izipped
At last we have a zip line close to home! Common Ground Canopy Tours in Oberlin, OH has only been open for ten days, but you would never know it from the organized and professional manner in which our "tour" was run. Katie and Matt expertly showed our group of eight the ropes (tee hee) and made us all feel at ease mega feet above the ground. The tour consisted of seven zip lines, three hanging bridges, the only floating staircase in North America and the pièce de résistance...a chance to rappel down from the last platform. It took approximately three hours. You can sign up for the picture package in advance for $7/person in your reservation, or $10/person after you are done. The pictures are emailed to you instantly. This is my only complaint about the day. I think $7 or $10 per reservation would have been plenty...per person is a bit exorbitant, especially since they only emailed it to one of us! You can easily take your camera with you in a closed pocket and take your own pix. Be sure and wear closed toe and heel shoes...that is their rule, though I don't really know why. Afterward, we went for a lovely lunch in Oberlin. what a great way to spend our anniversary! Best of luck for great success to Common Ground Canooy Tours!
On this cloudy Monday we visited this new business which is a part of a leadership training center. Following a practice line with more thorough training than most zip adventures, we climbed the 61 steps of the tower to the first zip. There were 7 zips up in the trees, over areas of the Vermilion River. Also were 2 spiral stair climbs (about 30 steps each), a floating stair climb (reportedly the only one in the country), 2 swinging bridges and a rapel. The platforms were different than those previously experienced -- no safety rails around the perimeter. We were double clipped on cables at each platform. Different doesn't necessarily mean bad...just different. The 8 person tour was expected to take 2 1/2 - 3 hours; we were more like 3 3/4 -4 hours...but the guides were very patient to answer questions before we ever started, practice was gone over step-by-step with each individual. One person opted to drop out. She was thanked for being honest about her previously unknown limitations and not putting herself (or anyone else) in jeopardy. The remainder of the group (4 adults, 3 middle school students) had a marvelous time. Cheering one another on we all challenged ourselves. Some zips were fast! The guides cued us when to hand brake. It was a great time. I think with more repetition as the season progresses the guides will move the groups along quicker without anyone feeling rushed. For today, we were all glad for their professional, cautions processes.
