Nice basic campground nice bathrooms n showers well maintained. nice holiday weekend activities and themes. It will be great when the trees grow up.
Whether camping, or in the cabins it is a great place for families to stay. Loads of deer to watch! Fun place for a weekend getaway.
Lodge is very nice and clean. Good restaurant with a nice selection. Games and indoor pool for children in the winter. Beautiful view of Lake Erie out front.
Stayed in #16 cabin. It was clean and furnished better than anticipated. During colder days, the second floor gets intensely warm but you can open the skylights and it's tolerable. The park offers sledding, ice fishing, cross country skiing, a nature center and nature trails. The beds were clean, and the mattresses were better than a typical sofa sleeper. Tv had satellite and worked fine. For a person who nevers camps nor stays in cabins, this was much better than anticipated and the veteran outdoors people on the group raved that these cabins were much nicer than others found in other state parks.
This lakeside and wetland park is great for both swimming and nature walking. The long boardwalk through the wetlands is an excellent way to view fauna and flora. The nature center and butterfly garden are also very good.
Maumee Bay State Park is a vacation wonderland right in our own backyard. Located on Lake Erie, there is plenty to do. Swimming, fishing, boating and camping. Camp sites as well as cabins available along with a beautiful hotel and top notch restaurant. Truly something for everyone.
Love being near Lake Erie. The lodge is cozy and friendly staff. There are a lot of common areas to visit with family and friends but also many areas where one could go and hunker down with a good book.
I love driving through and watching the deer and wildlife! In season you can go swimming and bike riding! The trails are nice to walk through also! Great for birdwatching!
Ohio was rated number one state parks in te country .... And maumee bay was rated number one in Ohio ... Fantastic lodge, fantastic cabins, fantastic camping, fantastic nature walk... ( I've never golfed so I can't comment ) All in all a smash hit home run ..The only down : algae bloom, but there is inland lakes so, all is good..
Good variety of habitats, and in late April and early May, most people are there for the birding and gladly share information and tips.
One of the best State Parks. Located on Lake Erie. Bike Trails, Walking trails, camping, fishing, kite flying, golf, swimming boating, rentals ( jet ski, windsurfing) If you like bird watching this is a great place too. There is a boardwalk that you can walk on - see deers, owls, snakes, turtles - nature center - Lodge with indoor and outdoor pool, cabin rentals all year. I spent Christmas Eve there and Christmas Day - the kids came out to the cabin - we had plenty of room for all of us to sit at the table and the cabin had a great kitchen. Campground has showers, toilets, electric and water on sites. The park has a fantastic bike trail. This is one of my favorite places to camp or spend the day just riding my bike.
Well kept paths and markers wtih a very nice Nature Center and lab with explanations. The beach was clean and the views were lovely. The Nature Center has a nice, varied, gift shop.
The staff is AMAZING & so is the restaurant the Water's Edge. Our waitress Gail was so personable & fun! Mary in the Gift shop was friendly & inviting as well!! The girls who checked s in were VERY friendly then we received a phone call after we got into our room to make sure our room was to our liking!!
I showed up after labor day weekend and picked a spot for tenting. Most spots are reserved by RV's but it's very nice layout make it appealing for everyone. I swear my spot must have had almost a quarter acre of space (at least it felt this way) with its own fire ring and box for electricity. The showers and restroom are clean and well maintained, landscaping is excellent, very nice area for bike riding. However cell coverage for T-Mobile/Sprint users is very spotty in the park and there is no wifi.If you can live with that (and for many that's the whole point) you'll have a great time. (bring a bike!)
Not many tress on the campsite but huge shrubs for privacy and very large spaces. Clean showers and restrooms and beautiful scenery. Would love to return in the spring or summer.
