This is a clever store that sells all the Smucker products. The Smuckers factory is about 4 miles north of the store. The store has several displays promoting the items they sell. It is a very cheerful and happy place. There is a huge chandelier made out of strawberry jam jars. The back wall is filled with jam jars and looks like a wall out of Las Vegas. There is also a history section (museum) in the back of the store and you can learn about the history of Smuckers. There is a sampling station in the middle of the store and you can try different recipes that the sample clerks are creating. Some are very good. I found some great little jars of syrup, jams, ketchup and mustards that I can use in baskets for the holidays. There are also baskets filled with Smucker products already made you can buy. There is a Café on site. I have had the sandwiches and they are awesome. there is also an ice cream bar there with every Smuckers topping available to put on your ice cream. The staff working there are all very friendly and helpful. The store is very clean. This store is less than a half mile off from U.S. 30 and is very easy to get to. If you are in the area visiting (Amish Country, Football Hall of Fame, McKinley Museum) this is a nice place to go also.
Smucker's is a great place to stock up on jams & jellies, but they have so much more -- cookie & cake mixes, coffees, & a wonderful selection of gift items as well as specially prepared jelly & jam packages.
No parking next to building. They do have a small café and restrooms. There is a walk through history wall in the back. Just nothing I really needed. Seemed like a bus stop for bus tours. Something to do between other places visited.
We ran in on our last day. We were there when they opened @ 9. There are several different types of jelly, jams to sample. we got the pepper jelly to mix with cream cheese. it was delicious. The display floor is a sight to be seen in itself. The strawberry chandelier made out of jars was too cute. There is a little display from how they came from the beginning. Disappointed there are no factory tours. We were surprised how diversified Smuckers is with what other brands comprise them. We bought a few items to take home. one was Milnot, which is like an evaporated milk the Amish use for their baking. The kids bought uncrustables at their café for .25!!! Tables are outside to enjoy your snack. They were making wood fired pizza and other items. TIP: In their brochure there is a coupon for 10% off of a $50 purchase.
We've passed by Smuckers several times on visits to Amish country and finally got to stop. It was an interesting stop with all the varieties of jams and jellies available. A center counter has samples available and if you don't see a flavor you want to try, just ask. The lady pulled several different ones out of her little refrigerator. She also offered suggestions for how to cook or bake with some. What surprised me most was how diversified Smuckers has become. They are associated with lots of other products including Pillsbury, my favorite pie crust recipe. In a back alcove there is a history of the company which is very interesting. Unless you are interested in shopping for some gift baskets or logo products, there's not anything there you can't get in a grocery store.
This is great to see the variety of products related to Smucker. There are many items we cannot find locally that we could purchase to try. Attractive, large showroom and an interesting museum/history of the company.
We recently were in the Orville Ohio area to take care of some other business and decided to stop by the Smucker's store to eat lunch and check it out. It was excellent! The food at the cafe was very good and reasonably priced, especially the "build your own" sundae. The store itself was just a blast. We enjoyed looking it over all of the food products that they offer. We purchased several different flavors and types of jellies, jams & preserves that are not offered in our local grocery stores. We really enjoyed ourselves. Now that we know were this place is and that it is only about an hour away from us we plan on visiting more often, just to stock up on some of our favorites. Going here was a pleasant surprise!
This was our second trip to the Smucker's Store! It's basically a gift shop - with an interesting "museum" hallway that is informative re: how the company started - and it's aquisitions since then. There are flavors and products that you don't find in your local grocery stores... and other kitchen gagets and fun stuff to look at! There is also a quaint bakery and ice cream shop in the front of the store where you can make your own sundae. I would love if the Smucker's company would put together some sort of tour through their facility down the road.
We decided to stop and see the Smucker Store and Café outside of Orrville, Ohio on Rt. 57. The Store had plenty of parking and easy access for Buses and RV's. Store was bright and pleasant. Staff were knowledgeable of the products and the location of items. Interesting to see the variety of items that are in the Smucker line of products. I found the gift items to be somewhat pricey. If you are willing to pay the price, you can have gift basket shipped all over the country. I did like the fact that you could customize your basket with what ever you wanted in it, food items and/or gifts. We enjoyed the wall of history of the Smucker family and business located in the back of the store. The Café served the best Chicken Salad Sandwich ever!!! Very enjoyable stop in our travels. I would recommend this to anyone.
The staff is very nice here and willing to help in anyway that they can. Didn't realize that so many items were owned or a partner company with Smuckers!
Easy shopping of the Smucker Brands. Usually stock up on the lemon/lime curd. Hot Pepper relish and a few others. Need a gift basket, one stop shopping and the staff is very helpful in putting it together for you. A pleasant shopping adventure if you have people visiting.
This was a highlight of our trip! We enjoyed browsing all the products, tasting the free samples and interacting with the delightful employees! You don't want to pass this place by!
Stopped in on the way home from vacation (easy off the highway) and totally charmed. From the chandelier made of jelly jars to the wall of jars to all the displays including the Pillsbury Dough Boy and the small museum, I was snapping pictures constantly. Lots of products to buy, gift items, and gorgeous displays. Utterly enchanting. The restaurant portion for the wood fired pizzas was small with only a few tables so we opted not to indulge but the rest of the store is fun and inviting.
Wow, tucked away in a small town in Ohio, is J M Smuckers store and restaurant! Very Cool. All the Smuckers goodies we grew up with, plus all the brands from the companies they own. Pilsbury, etc. Plus they have a small Bistro style restaurant inside. Wood fired oven pizza? Yep! Sandwiches, cookies, pie, monster brownies, smoothies. We ALWAYS come out with boxes of goodies, lol. Ya GOTTA stop, very unique, ONLY ONE in the country! This is it, they only built this one store, and it's something different to see.
