apple tree gallery

I try to buy my wife a special ornament for Christmas. The ornaments have been Lennox, Waterford etc since I wanted something special - even though they make thousands of them. This year I went to the Piqua Mall thinking I could pick up an ornament. None of the stores had anything special. A Work Associate suggested the Apple Tree Gallery which is downtown Piqua. I had never heard of it but the associate said it had some nice things. Was I surprised. The ornaments were not only beautiful but limited edition - some may be one of a kind while others were limited to maybe 1 of 20 of the same. What I had been paying for the Lennox etc, I could get one ornament for $30-$50 but much more special than what I had bought previously. Two of the artist were from Ohio - one made a Snow Baby group which were cute - hand painted bisque faces some were holding stuffed animals, on a baby botte (blue/pink) etc. The other type which caught my eye were designed in Ohio, a mold made and sent to Poland to have glass blown of each form. The forms were very similar but the local artist hand decorated each one so that each was unique. This store had other Christmas Decorations, Halloween, Antiques etc. If you want something special this is the place to go. We have been to Bronners but this is better quality and special ornaments for less a price.
