I took my 2 little ones here to spend an afternoon getting out of the house & enjoy the sunshine. First, the driveway is very easy to miss. It's tucked in a residential area & the farm is not as big as I was expecting. Second, the farmer was there at the entrance under a tent to give some direction & explained there was no lavender at this time due to a late frost. He wasn't kidding - there was no lavender - anywhere. He also mentioned there is a walking path to a shed & a pond - but beware of poison ivy. So I pushed the stroller to see what we could see. They had a nice old fence off to the immediate left so I thought I'd snap some pics of the kids while the weather was cooperating. My 19 month old ran off down the path into an open fenced in area - she had fun just running. My 8 month old didnt do much but try to eat the grass :) on the other side of the cut path was a lot of overgrown grasses/weeds & some wildflowers. Then as my daughter was running up & down the hill I noticed some poison ivy!!! Then I started looking more closely & there was a TON of poinson ivy all along this walkway. We were not even close to the shed or the pond - so I threw them back in the stroller & headed right back to the car. My daughter was smelling all the wildflowers - she could have easy grabbed one of the ivy leaves & smelled that too. I put them both in the car & the only thing I could think to do was slather them down Purrel. I was scared for days - 8 & 19 month old babies with full blown poison ivy - YIKES! Luckily, no one had even a bump. Needless to say, I haven't gone back - I don't want to try my luck again. It's too bad because it was a nice little farm & it definitely has some good picture taking backgrounds. Just can't get over the poinson ivy.
