matus winery

It's important to me to support local businesses, and I certainly want the local wine industry to succeed. That said, Matus has a great location with a cozy barn and wood burning fireplace. It seems like a good, casual place to meet up with friends. The night we were there, there was also wood-fired pizza and a live band. And a cute cat. However, they were completely out of all but three of their "dry" wines. (They had no idea when they'd have more -- months perhaps, after the next harvest!) Of the three remaining, two were bad and one was only slightly better, but sour. If you like fruity sweet wines, or slushies, or your basic beer variety, maybe this place is for you. We found a finer winery just up the road...

I would HIGHLY recommend this winery. It has a very rustic feel with a wonderful fireplace. There is a fire pit outside if you like that.The wine is exceptional.Bob always has activities going on, there is something for everyone.I have never gone and not had a good time!

The winery is a cute place. I love going there and sitting by the fire. The staff there is very friendly. A lot of the wineries near me (Lorain) do not have food, so you can bring your own. But at Matus, the have food trucks which I think is a great idea, you get to try new food and it supports small businesses. I would recommend it to couples or groups. I always see people having game night or with a group of friends. They have entertainment some nights, I am not sure what nights, But its completely worth checking out

This review may be a little predudice as I worked with the owner previously. But Bob Matus produces some outstanding wines. We have enjoyed all of what he has to offer and can't wait to see what the future has in store for this vineyard. This vineyard is definitely worth a visit or two. I know Bob's attention to quality is above the norm !!The view of the vineyard is a pleasant backdrop to a good bottle of wine....and the old barns add so much to the overall experience---a class act.....

You will enjoy Manus Winery. This family run winery produces a very good product at fair prices. This is a great place to meet with friends for a quiet evening in rural atmospher. The hosts are more than willing to assist in providing a place to support fund raising events for community organizations.
