We bought a pumpkin for halloween here. DO NOT DO IT! Way overpriced first of all, but more importantly was the fact that IT ROTTED AND CAVED IN ON ITSELF 2 DAYS AFTER WE BOUGHT IT. It made the whole house stink. Pissed, because they had to have left those pumpkins just sitting there for over a month before it would have rotted out like that.
The corn maze, the butterflies and the camp fires they have set up for you to light and sit, to just relax. Very casual setting.
Beautiful butterflies up close and personal. Many different species with incredible coloring. The butterflies fly around you and land on you. Children were able to entice the butterflies to perch on their fingers for photo opportunities. Nine dollars for adults, seven for kids but worth the price for the experience.
I felt like I had to be persistent with my photography after we paid our money, otherwise it would have been too easy to feel very disappointed. We've been to really great butterfly places on St. Martin and at Niagara Falls, so even though the cost was much lower here, it felt like an inferior value since there really wasn't that much to see. Our visit on St. Martin came with a guide who explained about the butterflies. Niagara Falls was absolutely amazing with the number of butterflies. I guess if I hadn't been to such spectacular ones before, I might have been more pleased.
This place has potential, but was underwhelming at best. For the cost of admission, this was a pretty small set up. There was a small room with a number of plants and flowers mainly around the perimeter. At several locations, there were also bananas and oranges for the butterflies to enjoy. Some butterflies were in flight. But, many others were resting on the upper walls and ceiling where you couldn't enjoy them. A few were clearly dead and hadn't been removed from the exhibit. There were a few scattered signs with snippets about butterfly behavior, but the place was lacking in educational value. I probably would not return.
The building is not very big, but has a nice setup. We spent about an hour looking and taking pictures. We have been to better facilities in other states, but this is close to home and a nice day trip for us. Would have liked it if they had more varieties, but the number of butterflies for the size was about right. Young kids would enjoy this, although as others have said, it is not for those on a tight budget.
My daughter loved this time with just her and I. We sat on the benches and had butterflies land right on us. I was able to get some great pics and lots of giggles! The people were very friendly and shared with us many cool things about butterflies! Enjoyable and educational, but I would not go here myself but again and again with my daughter!
The Butterfly House packs a lot into a small space. They have a good variety of butterflies (many of which will land on the visitor), but also have wonderful feeding and resting areas for them. There are lovely ponds with koi, and feeders with nectar and fruit or sponges. There are also displays of the development of a butterfly from pupa to chrysalis, and bees in a honeycomb (both behind glass). My greatniece was fascinated with this lovely spot.
The butterflies are neat, but the price is too high. The place is fairly small - the greenhouse room for the butterflies is just that, a large room maybe 70 x 80. I was expecting more. That said, we made the best of things and enjoyed it. I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anybody pric-conscious, however.
Really enjoyed an afternoon here, the butterflies are stunning and with the classical music playing in the background it is so relaxing and serene. The premises are clean with plenty of parking and a nice garden area.It was worth the trip and the staff were very pleasant . Lots of different butterflies to photograph or just watch. Excellent.
A nice day looking at and photographing a wide variety of butterflies. The atmosphere was good, clean and just a nice time spent.
I take my little guy here every year to see the butterflies. The butterflies are really amazing and fly around you freely. The iguana is also a big attraction for my little one. Love the gardens outside too.
Looking for something different? This place is more fun than you would expect. Great for kids, but interesting and fun for all. They have a great corn maze too.
This is an amazing place.I saw butterflies I had never seen and they ere beautiful. A great place to take al ages. Also the gift shop wa a treaseure trove of gifts for all ages. Especially education gifts for the youngsters. Took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, plussome gift shop time. You can just sit in the area and the butterflies will come sit with you or even on you!
The butterflies are neat but for the price it is pretty boring for kids Really only takes about a half hr to see what you want and thats stretching it! Nice well taken care of place though
