If you search elsewhere on the Internet for articles on The One and Only Presidential Museum (run by Nick Pahys, Jr. DDG-CH-AdVS-A.G.E.-LDA-FIBA), it sounds like a madhouse. A museum run inside a guy's living room, purporting to teach you about the REAL first President of the United States.Yes, the museum claims---George Washington is a hoax. The real first President was a guy named John Hanson. The experience of visiting this museum is...intense. The first hour of my visit (yes, hour) was spent sitting in a chair opposite Pahys, listening to him talk about any number of topics, starting with John Hanson and quickly moving to the current state of U.S. politics, the many awards he's won ("I've been compared to Einstein!"), the foreign dignitaries he's corresponded with, and so on. After that I took a guided tour with him of the museum itself---where he showed me the awards he's won and his letters from royals, and also a few things about presidents. The museum is as far off the beaten path as I've ever traveled for an attraction, down miles and miles of dimly lit country roads. Previously, it was located on the second floor of a tavern run by Pahys, but it's since been moved to what I'm pretty sure is his actual home. It was honestly unsettling and I wouldn't recommend it for a lot of people (especially if you're generally reserved around others, like I am). If you're interested I'd definitely encourage reading Roadside America's account of the place before visiting.(FWIW, he's 100% right about President Hanson. There were actually eight presidents under the Articles of Confederation, before Washington was ever elected.)$10 total for the lecture/museum tour.
