This is by far the best bookstore in the area. It has a plethora of used and new books, books on all sorts of topics both popular and academic. The comic books are impressive, making it THE place to go for that. It's a great place to spend an afternoon and there's a wonderfully lovely cat to keep you company too.

Great electic collection of books, toys, and whatnots, for the geek or kid in you. Hubby especially like the Dr. Who selection of items.

Excellent selection of books. Purchased a few hard to find kids books to add to my classroom library & a magnet made by a local artist to add to my collection. Friendly staff & make sure to pet Mr. Eko while you are there ;)

Whenever I am in Yellow Springs, this is a must stop for me. I love the environment and the selection. The people are always so nice. During busy times like festivals or street fairs, getting in or out of the location can be a struggle, but just say excuse me and make your way through. Then you'll have room to peruse the books at your leisure. I've even popped a squat right there on the floor and looked over some books in certain sections. There's this lovely black cat that walks around and the whole book store just speaks to my soul. If you go to YS, you must check this bookstore out.

Dark Star has been in YS for a long time and continues to have a wonderful supply of all sorts of books from comics to Shakespeare. The staff know their stock well so can direct you to the appropriate section easily. Between this and the library people here don't need to buy lots of new books. If you wanted a new book you could go to Sam and Eddie's to find it.

Big, friendly used book store. One of the best in the area. Great selection. Cool bumper stickers too. The best store cat.

Found half a dozen used paperbooks of an author that I'd wanted-very reasonably priced too! We visited with the resident cat who followed us around. I understand that they will buy used books from people as well as ordering new ones for consumers. Very well defined spots for fiction, non-fiction, history, etc. LOTS of comics. Definitely well worth a visit, booklover or not. And, there are chairs to sit awhile. Don't miss it on your visit to Yellow Springs!
