Expansive and reasonable lunch menu available from 11 to 2. The portions are large and there is a very diverse menu. Hours are limited unless there is a performance at the DeYor.
We were there for a wedding reception and you could feel and see the beautiful history the place has to offer -- although I'm personally not a fan of the modern pavillion/restaurant (architetcure wise) -- the food at the reception was very good and I can only imagine what the theater was like back in its heyday. Its an impressive remnant of the golden age of theaters and I believe its included on the National Register of Historic Places.
This restored theater is remarkable - with awesome acoustics for enjoying the music. We had dinner at the restaurant adjoining the theater and the food and service were great.
This is a fabulous facility. A mixture of renovated old construction with a new steel and glass restaurant/meeting center. Conductor Fleischer brings world-class symphonic, piano, and pops music to Youngstown.
Went there for the first time to see Mannheim steamroller, what a beautiful auditorium. Youngstown has come along way and what a gem to have in downtown. Not a bad seat in the house .
We loved the Spring Gala of the Ballet Western Reserve School of Ballet. From the youngest dancers to the seniors it was excellent and the Company dancers were beyond good. I have seen professional dancers who were not as good.
Saw the Youngstown Symphony there. Very beautiful old style theater. Great acoustics. They added a restaurant which is also a nice touch a few years ago. Excellent food.
Excellent acoustics , many varieties of entertainment .professionally done .. we last attended Miracle on Easy Street Christmas Show .. Maureen Colins and Tod Hadcock and crew brought their Miracle to Youngstown community ...such a wonderful holiday tradition.
Been there many times. The service was great as was the shows. I do wish they would get more big name comedians though.
First let me state that anyone who refuses to go downtown because it's "not safe" is living in the 60's or 70's. Our downtown has been cleaned up, renovated, and is growing in leaps and bounds with show venues, restaurants, classy bars, etc. We have had the pleasure of seeing shows at DeYor on several occasions. We have seen ventriloquist Terry Fator in the Ford Family Recital Hall which has incredible seating. We have enjoyed many performances in the Powers Auditorium which is huge, comfortable and has a great sound system. Make a night of it by trying out one of the many nearby restaurants before the show. You will be pleasantly surprised and yes, SAFE.
They put on great shows, acts .The cost very reasonable for the Mahoning Valley.not to far from my home.
The De Yor performing arts center houses the old Powers Auditorium. It was originally built in the '30s and was renovated in the 1960's. I have seen public speakers as well as the Nutcracker Ballet. A friend of the family even had their wedding reception there when I was younger. I think architecturally it is a really unique building and I'm glad that the Youngstown community supports it! Check their website to see what performances are scheduled, should be very enjoyable!
