If you can go when they are having a festival, They have a blacksmith and lots of other areas to learn about life on a latter day farm. They play old fashioned games and have lots of fun for the family!

A working turn of the century farm with a general store & moreA sledding hill in the winter, hay rides in the fall, volunteers in costume in summer/spring. A real blacksmith, real animals, a fishing pond, creek & more.Watch out for snakes at the pond though!!Check the website first because most of this stuff has weird hours. While the park is open to walk thru, some things are unavailable at odd times

Love getting away from it all and strolling around the farm. I grew up on a farm many years ago and it is just a place I like to go to. Kids love it!

I'm getting to know Dayton by hiking in each of the MetroParks. I really enjoyed Carriage Hill. There is a lovely pond with a trail that goes all of the way around. The trail is grassy - wear shoes that can get wet if you go in the morning when there is dew. On weekdays at lunch, this park is relatively quiet and you can have a nice quiet picnic/hike. There is also a historic farm. It has lots to see and do - although seemed to be aimed at families with kids.

The park is very informative and interesting. Picnic tables are available. Staff was not really that friendly. Would have been better if the ones dressed in period costume had spoken to the guests instead of each other.

They could use a few more activities and advertise a bit more, but is a quality farm site for people to see what it use to be like before all the technology took over.

If you ever wondered what it was like to live in the country in the 1800's, Carriage Hill is the place to come. Functioning Farm with animals, barns, fields, crops, crafts, etc... Perfect day trip!

Nice place for a run, but also could picnic or fish. The only part I didn't like was the late opening (8am). Otherwise an excellent spot for hours of relaxation.

I like history and this was a bonus because of the historical buildings on site. They have all the normal farm animals one would expect in this area. There is a nice family cemetery back in the woods, their is a trail to it.

The park itself is great! They have an old fashioned, running farm, teaching you all types of things! I mostly do the free fishing at the pond when I have time. You don't need a license, just your pole and bait!

This is a great place to take young children that like to see the farm animals up close. It is a blessing to have places nearby to visit like this.

A great family-fun place. The museum has several interactive stations that demonstrate early american life and traditions. The kids loved the candy store in the gift shop. Explore the village and the duck pond. On the weekends enjoy hay rides.

It's a decent park with a little makeshift farm and village set up. I enjoyed it, but haven't returned since. I'd recommend for locals.

We live just 5 minutes away and eat our take-out suppers there often. It is so much fun to watch the ducks and geese and watch people fishing.

We had to kill some time while I was at a conference in Dayton, and so we stopped by the historical farm. It was great! There is a living history area where the family had their homestead. It's well maintained and there are plenty of animals to see. My favorite was the donkey in the pasture that had a herd of sheep following it around. There are also exhibits and clean bathrooms in the Visitor's Center, as well as a little cafe (take cash!). It was dusk so we didn't stay more than an hour, but we'll definitely be back when we're in the area.
