Spent a day in June with the 3 and 5 year olds. Park was neat and clean. The one pool with the water slides and waterfalls, etc., was freezing, but kids don't seem to have any blood and loved it, even though they'd turned purple from the cold. One pool, heated and full. There's a bar set-up, go karts, a grill that actually has pretty good food. The admission price was right and there's free parking. Not as crowded and certainly not as expensive as Cedar Point's water park. Would visit again.
FIrst off let me state that the park itself was wonderful. My 8 year old step son and his 7 year old friend had a blast on all the attractions the park had to offer. However while sitting in the pool that is connected to the Tiki Bar we watched an elderly woman fall down the three steps to the other level. Me being and EMT I immediately went to her. There was a large pool of blood coming from her head. At that time another guest of the park who identified hlimself as a Paramedic came to help.About 4 minutes of lapsed time went by when a lifeguard finally came up and asked what was going on. We explained she fell and would need an ambulance and if they has a Backboard and C-collar. The look on her face was complete confusion. She had no idea what we were talking about. Finally a manager who also identified himself as a Paramedic came and asked what happend and said an ambulance was called. How can you have a waterpark and not train your staff on dealing with head injuries?? I worked at Kalahari for 2 years and we had an emergency plan in place. I realize Kalahari is larger but still you have slides and water. They need to properly educate all of their lifegaurds and staff on how to deal with these issues if not they could be looking at a major lawsuit!
We recently went to Monsoon Lagoon with two teenagers and a tween. The lazy river is a little small but they do offer double tubes. The kids did go on on the waterslides a few times. We did purchase the special for $18 dollars. The kids were disappointed in the long wait for the go karts. It seemed like there was an incredibly long wait each time. They had a blast on the bumper boats and the line was not line. The mini golf was also fun and they were glad it was included. The kids were just a bit disappointed that the water park portion did not have one more attraction for the older kids.
This park has too many rules - you can't jump into the swimming pool, you have to sit inside the tube with your preschooler in the lazy river instead of walking with your child outside the tube, kids under 48" must wear life jacket when going on bigger slides (whatever happened to parents being able to decide if their child needs a life jacket?)All three of my kids cut themselves on the rough pool entries - be careful! The water in the play area is ice cold. My 8-year-old got bored quickly. I think next time, we will just go to the city pool.
My son was bullied by a group of boys tripping him surrounded him and yelling your a effin disgrace and throwing water balloons at him!! The life guard said they were warned to stop. I went to The manager Dave who did nothing but sit on picnic table where he couldn't even see the boys on the other side then were chasing my son and telling him they wanted to fight him. We had to leave. I then contacted the park to speak with the owners and was told by Dave their bank owned and he was the only one to speak with! Not safe place at all.
Park is small but younger kids (pre-teen and younger) will find plenty to do.The price is quite a bargin! The entrance to the pools are rough to add traction; however, every member of our party complained that the texturing was a little too rough. Ouch!Speaking of parties, I don't believe the bartender should be crawling through the legs of the women standing on the Tiki bar.The staff ranged from wonderful and attentive to confrontational. It appeared that their was no written code of conduct for the employees.
I have been here in the past with my smaller children and they had alot of fun. A few weekends ago we came here because the water main break at cedar point (thank god we had our suits with us!) I just had my older kids with me and we pretty much hung out in the pool and the lazy river. It was extremely busy that day, very over crowded, but im sure that had something to do with cp/soak city being closed or at least I hope so because its not fun being right up on people everything you do! We still had a pretty good time, got some sun and stayed cool! Food is reasonably priced also.
Visited this park for the first time on a Thursday. Used their $18 "Do it All" special price (good Monday-Thursday). For that price you get unlimited use of the waterpark, bumper boats, go carts, and mini golf.As others have mentioned, the waterpark is small. There is one kids play area, a slide tower with 2 water slides, a small lazy river, and one pool. It is nicely maintained, but nothing exciting if you don't have younger children. The mini golf course was in "so-so" shape, and the go-carts needed some help. There were many of the carts out of service which led to an almost 45 minute wait for less than one queue of people. We had lunch at the park and used the 16 inch pizza deal, which included a large pizza and 4 drinks for $24. Not a bad price for an amusement park, and the food was tasty. We spent about 5 hours at the park, which was more than enough time (probably a little too much). My biggest complaint was with the staff. I worked at a major amusement park in a manager role for 10 years, and have visited many parks across the country. I have never seen a staff that was less interested in their jobs and less attentive to the needs of the customers. The 2 different employees working the bumper boats were awful - one spent the entire time the ride was going playing on his smart phone, and the other one spent nearly an hour socializing with his girlfriend who was sitting in his chair and playing with all the equipment). We also witnessed life guards who kept wandering off (at the life guard position near the park entrance) instead of watching their station. They were often replaced by an older gentleman who appeared to be a manager of some sort, but who was clearly more concerned with socializing instead of paying attention. Not sure which aquatics company certified their guards *Red Cross, NASCO, Ellis, etc...) but these guys need some serious retraining.I would not take my younger children to this park again unless I had the time to follow their every move to personally watch their safety myself.
We decided to go to this water park while in Port Clinton for the day. It is $23 for an all day pass plus $10 for senior citizens. I was a bit bothered when they wouldn't allow one container of power Ade & a bag of carrots in the park. I could understand someone bringing in a cooler. The park had 2 main slides, a kiddie area, a swimming pool, lazy River, bumper boats, go carts, miniature golf, & a small arcade & gift shop. I believe they also had food. Not a bad price for what they offered. The downside. .. The miniature golf course wasn't kept up, the lazy River upon entering has very sharp gravel on the bottom. I cut my knuckles & my elderly father punctured his palm. The changing room was actually bathroom stalls & 3 showers. .. felt like I was at a campground. If you're going for the day, it's a good price.
Had a great time there with our 3 grandsons. The best part was there was an activity for all of their ages- 3, 6, and 9. We could watch the older boys from across the park while we kept a closer watch on the 3 year old. We take them there every year when they come to visit and have enjoyed it every time.
Went with the family and Grandparents. The kids (3 & 7 yrs old) had a blast in the numerous pools. My oldest loved the fact that he could be on his own and know we were in eye contact of him playing on the large water playground with ropes, water cannons, slides, etc. The littlest of the group hung out near the big fun, but found other items to play with, and hung out in the shallow pool with mom while she got a tan. The grandparents enjoyed the lazy river, bumper boats, go-karts, and mini golf with the boys. The food was decent priced, too.
Online and advertised open, so we drove 30 minutes to the park only to find they decided to close early - as in 12pm early, an hour after they opened because it wasn't busy enough. What a disappointment for my family and the other 3 cars that pulled up after us.
I did not visit this water park, but I did call them to ask a question. Thought I would share that they need training in customer service at least on the phone. I had won tickets to the park through a radio station, the tickets had an expiration date on them. I'm not sure why the expiration date wasn't the end of the season but it wasn't. So when something came up at the last minute and I couldn't use them by the expiration date I decided to call the park. The phone rang and a young person answered the phone Monsoon Lagoon with a little bit of a tone. I told them I was just wondering if the park honors the tickets after the expiration date or if that is not allowed. There was silence, then a gentleman got on the phone (I'm assuming a supervisor). The gentleman had a scolding tone and after I ask my question said no we don't honor them after the expiration date that's why there is an expiration date on them they are only good until that date. I politely said I thought I would check just in case. And we hung up. There was no thank you for calling, sorry but our policy doesn't allow that, and no please hold. I was shocked I was treated like that just for making a call and asking a question. I don't know if I will ever visit the park but I definitely will think twice before spending my money at Monsoon Lagoon. I realize I didn't pay for the tickets but I would have been spending money once I was in the park.
This was my first time taking my family. My family that went range from the ages of 4yrs old-66yrs old. Everybody has a great time. The price is very reasonable. The food was really good and afforable. Free Parking which is a plus. Not, to mention there is a bar located right there in the pool. The water slides and bumpers and go kart was awesome. Great get away for 1 day. Will go again soon .....
I have been here for two years in a row and decided to take a friend and her son along with us. My friends son has severe allergies to peanut , dairy, pork and beef. The manager (older man) wouldn't allow his sandwich into the park. He was quoted as saying it was because of 911. What? Very nice ladies in kitchen and bag check helped us out.
