I love visiting the gardens. I enjoy the spring and summer months of walking in the outdoor gardens and experiencing the butterfly exhibits. I have just recently visited for the Orchids at Night exhibit and had a great time. Beautiful flowers and enjoyable date night. I look forward to the spring for another visit and would love to check out the wintertime exhibition this year as well.

While I wasn´t THRILLED about the price for entrance, I understand that they need to keep everything going and our money goes to help them. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with how many things entertained our 4 yr old. We went in March, so it was cold, and we just went into the glasshouse. He loved the butterflies, wanted to find every one on the list they have to see their names, and even got to hold one, when someone helped him by showing us how friendly it was. IT sat on his hand, fluttered away, then came back to land on his hand again. He loved it. He enjoyed seeing the colors of the flowers, seeing the chameleons and turtles and hedgehogs, and just had a really good time. I was worried that it would be a lot of ¨don´t touch, don´t touch, just look, etc¨but he was well entertained. He also enjoyed looking at the ants, as he could see them carrying leaves. They also had a place where he could dress up for Mardi Gras, and take a picture of him on the ¨float¨ which was fun for him. I now know that he can enjoy it even at a young age, which is nice.

Beautiful place for adults and kids alike. The flowers and grounds are beautiful in every season but especially fun is the pizza garden, where they make wood fired pizzas from items grown right there. The patio is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. If you are with kids be sure to be in the butterfly area at 2 pm when they release new butterflies. Garden stuff put the butterflies on the kids' hands.

This was my first time visiting Orchid Mania. Due to a busy schedule, we were only able to go on a Wednesday evening after dark. It was in the glass house, so it was very dark, but romantic! They were serving beer and wine in the cafe area, and people were able to take their drinks with them as they explored. We used the lights from our phones to locate the many displays of orchids and it was a surprise every time to see what they actually looked like! There were thousands of orchids on display. I thought the set up was beautiful. I would love to have a hand in getting Orchid Mania together! Outside of the glass house, in another (well-lit) room displaying Kent student dress designs, were additional displays of orchids. They were a lot easier to enjoy! There were some very exotic orchids on display (some looked like little tiny birds were inside). However, we've seen pictures of "monkey" orchids and were hoping to see some in person, but didn't. Maybe they were there and we just missed them in the dark! While going after dark was a beautiful experience, next year we're going during the day as we feel we may enjoy the beautiful orchids even more in the light! Plus, I heard there were animals (like turtles and butterflies) in the glasshouse that we didn't get to enjoy. But we will definitely be back! Oh, and the Botanical Gardens offer a AAA discount, even on this special exhibit.

Such a beautiful and amazing place! We had our wedding photos taken here in August 2014. We purchased a membership and came back in December for the Christmas holiday events like Ginger bread house decorating. Ice skating is near by on the circle. The gardens is a great place to visit for a few hours or the whole day because it is not too large and overwhelming. There is a food court inside and a gift shop. The gardens is even great for kids and the whole family. Kids love butterfly gardens and being able to explore outside.

We returned once again for the orchid show. While the flowers were beautiful the execution of the theme...MardiGras was tacky at best. Tossing beads in every corner was pretty much the sum total of the decorations. We were also hounded by a volunteer to buy raffle tickets. The elevator from the parking garage was out of order requiring a multi stair climb. No accommodations were offered for those with physical limitations. Very disappointed this year.

Escaped the 16 degree snowy windy atmosphere with a trip to CBG. Going home with 2 unusual orchids to add to our assortment. Great Valentines Day

My family loves CBG! The gardens in the spring and summer are spectacular. We had family photos taken there last spring with a rainbow of tulips. My dear friend also got married here and I was so impressed with how they transformed the reception hall. My kids love looking for frogs, making mud pies, and playing in the fountain in the children's garden. Glow is also a great family holiday tradition, my only gripe being that the gingerbread house craft is a total ripoff. We will be back for the butterflies and orchid show this month!

Earlier this afternoon, my wife and I stopped in at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens here in Cleveland. The Glass House was pretty much the only thing open to walk through, as this being January, the gardens were closed. The exhibits in the glass house were impressive enough to see twice. The butterflies stole the show, and the birds added to the beautiful things to see. There are orchids growing around every turn, and they too were beautiful, in full bloom. This was first time here in a long time, and the experience was wonderful.

I always wanted to visit and the free entry on MLK day gave me the opportunity. I'm sure it is splendid when you can also take in the outside gArdens. You can view the interior gardens in twenty minutes.

I love visiting botanical gardens, and seek them out wherever we travel, so I've had a chance to see some wonderful ones throughout the U.S. and the world. Cleveland's is far from the largest or most extensive, but it does a lot with the available space. The outdoor gardens are very nice, offering a surprising diversity of plants and aesthetics in a relatively small area. Most of these gardens are beautifully designed, well maintained and inviting. The children's garden is a pleasure; it is both educational and fun. My boys loved it when they were younger and I still enjoy it now, with its tree house, pond, mazes, and gardening area tailored for young children. As for the greenhouse, it has an atypical design that works well with the limited space the CBG had to work with (it was built in 2003, long after most of the gardens were already in place) that recreates two different ecosystems (Costa Rican cloud forest and Madagascar spiny desert.) It is not huge, but for those who like to spend time really looking rather than just rushing through, there's a lot to see, especially with the many birds and butterflies throughout. To give frequent visitors a reason to come back often, the CBG holds special exhibitions several times a year along with a lot of special events. I've been a member for years and always enjoy spending time here.

Paths wind through nine huge gardens. Roses were gorgeous. Herbs were interesting. The Japanese garden was unique. The woodland forest is serene. The children's garden was creative with its short potting bench, log stools, small trowels, a hand pump, and sandbox. Each of the nine youngsters there were totally engrossed in digging.I've been there in May and October. It was beautifully manicured both times. We even enjoyed a light lunch and a glass of wine at the cafe there. I would like to visit these gardens again.

Beautiful Christmas display of lights outside, and a great collection of gingerbread houses and trees inside. A very enjoyable afternoon. I will return in the spring and summer for a walk around the gardens when they are in bloom.

We went through the interior rain forest gardens pretty quickly, as they aren't very large. The rest was decorated for the holidays. Too many gingerbread house displays for the out of towers, although I'm sure the local families got a kick out of contributing. The only thing that offsets the cost of admission here is that the Art Museum is free! You might get more for your money in the spring and summer.
