After attending a performance of the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall, I will forever associate classical music with this experience as the gold standard. Put the Cleveland Orchestra at the top of your list when visiting Cleveland.

Heard the orchestra play Pictures at an Exhibition. Absolutely the best performance I have ever heard. Every musician is incredibly talented. The audience applauded for 10 solid minutes. The building is worth a trip in and of itself. The entire building is beautiful. Excellent example of classical and art deco.

Make sure that you visit historic Severance Hall, home of The Cleveland Orchestra. The building is so beautiful, the music is out of this world! They have one of the most wonderful gift shops as well that sells much more than just music. You can find items that are unique and never anything that a chain store would carry. Loads of apparel, men's & women's, jewelry, glass ware from Italy & Turkey, socks, neckties, great children's merchandise and the largest collection of CD'S & DVD'S of Cleveland Orchestra recordings. Open for business from 11-6 Tuesday - Friday and 3 hours before any concerts or events and post concert as well. Be sure to dine in the Severance Restaurant run by Marigold Catering, wonderful food and staff. One stop shopping for any special occasion. Put this on your list! It's a must!

The last show I saw was when the San Franciso Symphony was in town. I absolutely loved it and I love that the Cleveland Orchestra has such a diverse selection of guest symphonies and musicians all throughout the year. Great performance, severance hall is simply majestic in its history and architecture and I am taken back in time every time I visit. Must-go!

Severance Hall is an art deco masterpiece with fabulous acoustics. The Cleveland Symphony is always excellent. I don't think the Cleveland Orchestra is quite as great as it was ~ 20 years ago but it's still a truly world class orchestra. And, Severance Hall is as good as it gets. It's well worth the trip and the cost for a magical music (and art/architecture) experience.

The theatre is small, intimate yet that make every seat a great seat!! The theatre itself is beautiful to see and the music was wonderful.

I came here several times growing up in Cleveland and returned for another show about 2 years ago! I was very pleased to learn that I could get a highly discounted orchestra pit seat with my student ID (about $15). The show was incredible and I was completely wrapped up in the performance!

Evening with some good friend during the Christmas season. Went to the Christmas Concert and was pleasantly entertained by the orchestra. The ambiance, the music , the people made for a great evening. We had initially made reservations for dinner before, but as plans goes stayed after and had a meal. I highly recommend to all who enjoy the arts.

if you have never been, first google and read about the history of the place and its construction and renovations. This will make you appreciate it even more. First of all parking underneath is very convenient and even relatively quick to get out of. If you buy tickets, go for "Dress Circle" if you can afford it. We don't go that often so when we do we would rather splurge and be in the best seats and dress circle is it.The place is just fabulous inside and the sound is like a religious experience. I just can't say enough about how mesmierizing itis to just sit there and soak it all in. The gift shop is really cute, lots of unique things. Not much in the way of refreshments at breaks or prior to the events. Your basic coffee and light snacks. This is a historic Cleveland treat you will not forgot at a world class venue!

My daughter, husband and I recently attended the Cleveland Orchestra's annual Christmas concert and we had a wonderful time. The venue itself is stunning and the orchestra is considered one of the best in the US. The conductor offered a nice variety of music and the audience participated in a few sing-alongs and enjoyed a visit by Santa. The concert was a fun Christmas activity for our family and I highly recommend it!

this is a most do Christmas experience. The hall is beautiful and the music outstanding. Make every effort to do this.

I am not a big orchestra person. my wife got us tickets for the annual Christmas concert. first, you have to be impressed with the facility. they simply do not build them like this anymore - classic, stately. What little i know about orchestra's is that Cleveland has one of the better ones in the world. must say i was impressed. had a wonderful time. will make an effort to attend another concert.

This was one of the most beautiful restorations I have seen. A must see if you are into Rococo, Nuevo or Baroque architecture. The acoustics were great as shown by the performance's. We were entertained by 12+ schools orchestras. A good show for the cultural arts and music. I would go back there for sure!

This orchestra can play anything and it does. Anyone in Cleveland must come to Severance Hall to hear this incredible ensemble on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and sometimes on Sunday.

October 10, 2014 - We were fortunate to see Lang Lang (pianist) in concert at Severance Hall with the Cleveland Orchestra. Since our concert was on Friday night, it was part of a series of concerts sponsored by a Cleveland bank. It included a pre-concert performance in another part of Severance Hall and a post-concert in yet a different part of Severance Hall. The pre-concert was a group of folk musicians and they played in a lower theater for about 45 minutes before the main concert. The post concert was held in the lobby of Severance Hall on the first level. Both the pre and post concerts were excellent. We had upper balcony seats in Row N, which were excellent. We were told that orchestral sound rises and that the balcony seats actually had the best sound. It was hot but the sound and the view was wonderful.Severance Hall is rated as one of the most beautiful symphony halls in the world and we agree.
