Such an exciting adventure. If I had this where I live I'd go every weekend! Great value for fresh fruits/veggies and unique foods.
The West Side Market is destination not to miss. Fresh local foods and fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Stop at the many food stands while you shop and get a true taste of Cleveland!
This is Cleveland in all its glory -- from pastries like Slovenian potica, to Hungarian kalachi to Polish and Italian sausage, to Middle Eastern spices and fresh fruit and veggies, this place has all the food our grandparents taught us how to love.
True. We have our favorite bread stand, Michelle's Bakery. We have our favorite chicken people, Kauffman's. It would not be a trip without a stop for a Brat at Frank's. And the ONLY guy I buy my veggies from outside is Emery at Bacha Produce! There are plenty of other stalls we shop at too. I am fond of the fresh herbs at A & J and like the people at DeCaro's Produce. The people at Mediterranean Imported Foods will let you try the cheese before buying and that is a real plus!We always 'pay' for a newspaper from the man or woman hawking them outside. A little good Karma never hurt!
If you've never been here it's a place like you've never seen. It's local stuff like fruit, vegies, baked goods, meats, everything you can think of. I wish they were open Sundays. If you go make sure you have a lot of time.
This 100 year old landmark is a must see for anyone coming to Cleveland. The vendors are friendly and fun. The food offerings are varied and reasonably priced and there's plenty of free parking.
Love this place. Makes you think of what our grandparents did for shopping. Love the different vendors. A must see in Cleveland. Only 2 others like this is the US>
Saturday afternoon at the market was hopping with shoppers, vendors and eaters. Lots to see and taste plus no where else in town can you get so any different types of ethnic eats under one roof. We shopped for family dinner and got it all-Slovenian sausages, hot Polish, veal brats, pierogis, cabbage and fruit. Plus we sampled baklava and a pepperoni and olive roll warmed in the oven. Great vibe. Don't let the parking bother you, just go early or plan to park and walk.
West Side Market is an ethnically diverse fine foods and produce market made up of over 100 vendors, including Edward Badstuber & Son, which has peddled its smoked meats there since 1912. It will be hard to go to another farmer's market after going to this tasty landmark in the Ohio City neighborhood.
The West Side Market is a must see if in Cleveland. Even if you don't buy anything it's is fun to see the local foods of cleveland. From whole pig heads to pergoies to cookies and cakes it's fun to look at.
