If asked to choose the gem of Cincinnati, I would most certainly select Music Hall in Over-the-Rhine. Even before entering this magnificent building, you are able to appreciate the beauty of its facade, with its looming red brick towers and tasteful glass windows. Immediately upon entering, though, the grandeur is astounding. The age of the hall becomes apparent with its lavish balconies, chandeliers, and various artworks. In the auditorium area itself, it is difficult to focus on the performance rather than the beautifully domed ceiling. The chairs, antique velvet, only add to the timeless mood of the hall. The appearance of Music Hall is only one aspect of its brilliance. Rather than decay with age and face imminent vacancy, Music Hall is home to a plethora of events. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera, and May Festival Chorus all use this hall to perform. Having attended numerous concerts myself at this venue, I can safely say that it is a perfect location for both somber Wagner operas and lively Beethoven symphonies. This is not only a place for high-culture events, though. Children, teenagers, adults, and seniors can find something to enjoy. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra has a program under the name of Lollipops, where they perform shortened concerts that can introduce such young audiences to the arts gracefully. I myself have helped at one of these concerts, showing young children how to properly hold a violin; the experience is wonderful. If a prospective attendee desired something a bit more casual, though, the summertime offers a major event that is dazzling. The ballet, CSO, and Pops all join forces to present Luminosity, an outdoor concert that has a spellbinding light show on the facade of music hall. Whether a native Cincinnatian or a tourist, Music Hall is a staple among the places to visit in the Queen City. Housing both casual and formal events, it is a place where anyone can feel comfortable and at home.
Disappointed in this very inappropriate and, and in my opinion, a very poor program that was not up to the usual standards for this annual concert. Would not attend this concert again.
My wife, friends and I attended the Cincinnati Pops holiday concert. Music Hall is beautiful and the music was wonderful. All area residents should go at least once in their lifetimes.
I saw the Pops holiday concert last night and it was an amazing musical extravaganza. The Cincinnati Pops orchestra knows how to put on shows that are both gripping and cathartic. The Hall is fantastic. I walked the whole edifice during intermission so saw the vantages from both gallery and orchestra and everywhere ha it's own charm and advantage. Any time you have an opportunity I hear an amazing orchestra in yah venue is the experience of a life time. This should be on everyone's bucket list and routine.

Went to see the Diana display. Very enjoyable. The children's museum is great. The model of the older Cincinnati is very interesting
Great sound in this hall with phenomenal history and its own ghosts. Home of Cincinnati symphony orchestra. Concerts with major international performers.
When visiting Cincinnati be sure to take in Music Hall. It is a beautiful piece of history. The architecture is exquisite. If you are lucky enough to attend a performance, you won't be disappointed...the acoustics are first class!
The hall is historic and beautiful. The auditorium area is stunning! A must see is the preserved wreath that was on Abraham Lincoln's tomb on the first floor. The auditorium has magnificent acoustics. I was there for a wedding with someone playing piano and it was glorious. There's also a beautiful park across the street with a gazebo. It makes one think of an earlier era.
A relative got married and had the reception at the Cincinnati Music Hall. It was elegant and special. The reception was held on the stage and it was fantastic.
I LOVE Music Hall. It's old, but classic. The architecture and chandlier alone are worth the admission price. The acoustics are wonderful and CSO is wonderful. If you get a chance to visit, do it! A true Cincinnati icon!
Cincinnati Music Hall is a beautiful building outside and inside. The acoustics are wonderful. My Family loves go there to see the shows and Cincinnati Symphony Pop's Orchestra.
A beautiful building, accessible with that formal feeling of being somewhere special. Everyone should visit. I recommend the first balcony in the front rows but be careful of obstructed views (the supporting columns that can block your view so you have to lean over toward your neighbor to see around). The floor is a problem if people arrive late and are permitted in during the performace. There are sometimes performances in the foyer and meet-and-greets before or after. I have been many times and hope to visit many more.
I am an opera fan and I saw a few operas here. The acoustics are wonderful. The building obviously has a lot of history. If you plan on attending a show be sure to get there early to find parking spot, and don't leave your valuables in the car.
Love music hall and if you get a chance to take a tour it is very interesting. the area does present some challenges as it is being revitalized and parking is not as convenient as one would hope.
