One of the last Drive-in-theaters left in the US, fun to do but you are subject to weather, they are adamant about not bringing outside food and the concession stand is expensive.

One of the last drive-ins in this area. Open year round, during the summer they are open everyday, when school is in session they are only open on weekends. You usually get a double feature, sometimes a triple. We bring lawn chairs and sit outside while the kids make a bed in the back of the truck and watch till they fall asleep. Drive-ins are slowly going away, so take your kids before they are gone. Yes the drive-in does not allow outside food. The prices at the concessions are reasonable.

LOVE this place for family get togethers. We drive from Lawton to meet our kids and grand kids from Yukon and Midwest City. The kids love the sand pit, concessions are delicious and affordable, just an EXCELLENT affordable activity for a family. We've been attending for a year and a half and have never once had a single negative experience at all!!! Everyone has been happy, helpful and professional!!

A star-lit night... soft rustling of the wind through the trees...the sweet smells of soft drink fountains & popped corn permeates the air full of sound vibrations pulsing from the out door seating that crowns a bustling snack bar as A bit of Hollywood magic dances across the screen high above miniature golf players. This is the feast of the senses one experiences at this particular drive in. The patrons, those that realize what a joy they have in this out door venue, are always polite to each other as they take in the art found in this dying theatre style. The staff, and owners greet you personally, and are also so obviously grateful to have visitors who are their life blood sustaining this beautiful ole' "Chief" gracing the outskirts of their small quaint town. Complete with that pricey (70-100 thou, as is commonly known,)digital conversion, and a well-stocked with the latest, once celluloid, features, as well as a very surprisingly delicious kitchen, it is the ultimate family/romantic/reminiscent outing. I fully see the justification in utilizing their on site refreshments born out of that afore-mentioned kitchen in the snack bar, as this is the main avenue in which the owners make a profit, or in some cases when the parking lot looks more desolate than they would like, is the only source of income helping to break even. The drive in is something you must visit, and visit often, lest we relegate it to something we only tell our grandkids about. Notable moments for me at the Chief include... Watching a baseball movie upon my first visit years ago, in which the National Anthem was fully played, and seeing other theatre goers beside myself, one by one exit their cars to stand, hats in hands, and said hands over hearts as the significant melody played on; Or one Valentine's Day when the proprietors helped pre arrange a holiday gift from my love, to be strategically placed in a box of popcorn I quite unsuspectingly bought. It's little touches like these that causes a place of mere cinder and wood, to be extraordinary. So thankful to be a part of the outdoor wonderment.

So far this summer, I've been here twice. I live in Wichita Falls, so it's quite a drive after the double feature ends around 1 am, so it must be worth it if I keep coming! The concessions are pretty cheap and good for a theatre and you can't beat two movies for only $7! The movie can be heard either through your car speakers or through speakers set up near the concession stand if you're parked or seated close enough. They have picnic tables and some theatre seating under the concession stand pavilion as well. It's well worth a trip if you live nearby.

We come from OKC once month to the Drive In. We etc entry went and the guy at the ticket booth insisted that we had food in our car. We did have a sonic drink but that was all.and we volunteered to throw them away. He then told us to leave and NEVER come back because he knew we had food with us Funny thing is we didn't have food and told.him.to look but he said we were Banned seriously banned from the drive In How Crazy.

Fantastic movie theater. They always have current movies. They have really good, greasy food. The staff is friendly and the picture is fantastic!

I like the setting alright and the people seem decent enough other than how you repeatedly are told how the only way they make money is through the concession. I didn't come to the movie to be put on a guilt trip. But that's parts ok I guess. What other thing bother me is that I half heard the movie between the delay from people's car stereos and their speaker system and the people around us that NEVER TURNED OFF THEIR CARS! Peoples conversations were not near as bothersome as the cars engine fan going off an on. I would return on a starry night and park in the back where not so many people are and I could hear what unpaid for along with laying in the back of the truck like you imagine when going to a drive-in....

We go to the drive -in every other week end . They have great food and don't put up with trouble makers and loud noise .

I recently took my family to the Chief Drive-In Theatre in Chickasha Oklahoma, and one of their employee's harassed me and my family to the point that it ruined our entire evening, for absolutely no apparent reason other than to just cause problems with us. Then after words I tried contacting them to report the incident and they didn’t even have the courtesy to respond back. So needless to say I cannot recommend going to this establishment & I cannot in good faith give them a good review, because apparently we are not the only ones that have been treated badly.

Its like one of the last drive ins around! Its usually not very expensive and makes most of its money off of the concession stand. We love to bring the pickup truck and lawnchairs and a radio to tune in the station they broadcast the sound through. Its a different way to share a movie with the family. They usually begin with a kids movie and the adult movie is after they fall asleep.

I've lived closed and always frequented the Drive In. It's part of my life. I can see it from my house.I remember when... There are so many memories associated with the drive in. Dates, family nights, bad movies, good movies are just a few of the things I'll cherish always.

I grew up @ Drive Ins in the North Texas area. But my kiddos ages 5 and 15, and a Grand daughter 4, had never stepped foot in one. So, we wer visiting Chickasha, Oklahoma, and we were of to the movies! It only cost us $31 to get the 5 of us in; Food and Drinks were reasonable without being too awfully expensive too. But the whole aura, and aroma of the NOSTALGIC DRIVE-IN era was there! The grounds were clean, the folks at the snack bar were very friendly, and their Popcorn was THE BEST! In short, my Wife, my kiddos and I had a fantastic time March 17th, and we definitely plan on coming this Summer as well! God Bless you and please, please never shut 'er down!...Sincerely,Bill Moore

The Chief Drive In is located just south of Chickasha, OK in Ninnekah. It is one of the few drive in theaters left in Oklahoma. The Chief opened in 1949 meaning that it is celebrated 60 years in 2009. The location has very few businesses surrounding it making the lighting perfect for a drive in. The times that I have visited it was not too crowded. Security personnel were present, but the atmosphere was such that we felt safe with or without them. You cannot bring your own food into the theater, but their concession stand provides very good items at a reasonable price. Restrooms are accessed from within the concesssion stand which makes you feel a bit safer with your kids having to go. Before the movies the Chief plays 50's music and provides a mini-golf course just in front of the screen tower. While we have another drive-in not too far from us, my family considers it worth the extra miles to visit the Chief.
