This was the entire reason we went to OKC. It was amazing. Unfortunately, the weather was bad on the Saturday and it was closed, but the front door was unlocked. We were pretty sad that when we walked into the lobby to find nobody working. :( We went back on Sunday and loved it. We spent the entire day there and could have gone back the next day and found more to do. Great place for kids. We did catch a movie about pandas and liked it a lot too, however, you can skip that and still have a great time.
Went to the museum on a rainy day with two 8 year olds. They had a blast, plenty of stuff for them to do and see!
I really enjoy these types of hands on science museums and have visited several, this one is kinda average and doesn't have any real stand out pieces that make it unique or original. By no means am I saying this is bad but if you have been to a "hands on" museum before I say take a pass on this one especially if time is a concern.
fantastic place, segways and hands on at every turn.. great afternoon or weekend visit. well worth a little drive
This museum has a lot of really cool things for kids to do and see. It went downhill a couple of years ago, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was back to the quality I was used to at my last visit. If you are trying to save money, pack a lunch. They don't mind and there are tables where you can eat.
Great place to experience things from dinosaurs, to space and rail travel. There so many hands on item for old and young to do. You can build a race track and send your car speeding down it or you can find out about the galaxy. Around every corner there are new and fun things to do and see.
This place is not exciting. Went there this summer for a work function and I hadn't been there in years. The building is poorly lit and has nasty flooring and everything looks outdated. It looks the exact same as when I was a child. I don't think this would be fun or interesting for kids. I wont be taking my daughter there when she is older. I would rather go to the zoo or find something more modern and interesting.
All four of my children ages 9 month, 5, 11, 12 years all enjoyed going here and we will go back again soon.
Our son's family lives in Edmond so we bought them a family membership for Christmas. We visited the Museum with our son and granddaughters recently. Ours was a good investment as all have a wonderful time there. Both girls, 7+ and 1+, really enjoy the time there. My wife and I aren't much for art or history museums so we were skeptical. Both of us really enjoyed the various activities and displays. Since there was not enough time to see everything, we look forward to visiting the museum again with our family especially the granddaughters as they grow and learn.
It has all kinds of exhibits and most are hands on. They do parties and events. There is a planetarium, gift store and couple other places to visit upstairs. Kids of all ages will love it. Plus it is right next door to the OKC Zoo.
We have 5, 2 and 4 month old our 5 year old loves it I like that its interactive for his age and they have a nice play area for my 2 year old which he loves as well. With the pass you also get free admission to other museums in outside the state. Theres a list of which they have we plan on visiting texas soon so well be visiting the perot museum. Its a great science museum for all ages!
We take our LOs here to play and discover. Our son likes the trains, treehouse and building sections. We also like the nursing and diaper area located here. Its private for mommies and babies, roomy, and relaxing. Unfortunately the toddler/little kid section could use updating and repair. Many of the toys/exhibits are very worn, in disrepair, and don't relate to today's LOs. The "baby" section is just a mat with playing blocks. I feel that more attention needs to be paid to these rooms.
We took a group of teens and I was a little worried that it would be beneath them but they loved it. We spent three hours playing with all the exhibits. Good time for everyone!!
Had good hand on exhibits. Segway track was fun to ride. Omnimax show about Jane Goodall was interesting. The day we went was not crowded so we were able to see everything. The science shows were entertaining.
Kids seem to love this place, there is tons to do and see, has all the classic science elements, plenty of hands-on activities, a great tree house to play in, loved the weather display and the tornado tube you can stand in, tried out a segway for the first time - totally fun, kids loved the olympics area and ran back and forth with other kids on the 50 yard dash for nearly a half hour (why won't they do this for free outside?), great space exhibit and artifacts, and the omni theater is nice too. Get a membership, it is much cheaper.
