First, I am prejudiced...I am a history buff about the Oregon Trail and am keenly interested in all things related. That being said, this is an excellent exhibit, with trails, to view the actual wagon ruts of the original wagons as people traveled on the Oregon Trail.I am not sure how interested young children would be in the center/exhibit. While there are some excellent hands-on activities for young ones--may not keep their interest for very long.We were here in November, and it was very quiet. In fact, there was only one other visitor there. However, the parking lot is huge, so it is likely much busier during the summer months.

This interpretive center is very well done and should not be missed. Baker City has a lot to offer. Stay at the Geiser, see the Interpretive Center, go to the museum, have a great time! The Geiser will provide information on what's happening around town.

The museum both shows what life on the trail was like and tells the story. Excellent exhibits and narration. Worth a couple hours to really get into the information but is also interesting for a quicker stop.

Authentic, original, accommodating, and informative. A must see for those who travel I-84 in eastern Oregon.

We went to many museums on our trip and this stands out as one of the best interpretive displays. Excellent full size dioramas of the Oregon Trail pioneers with descriptions of the difficulties encountered on their journeys. An opportunity to get a good feel for the hardships and huge tasks they faced. We stopped by the highway roadside to see the ruts still in the lsndscape from the wagon trails. This is a worthwhile visit!

This museum is wonderful- and I go in a lot of them. There are life-sized displays of people traveling west on the Oregon Trail complete with audio. They were very realistic and told the story of just how brave these early settlers were. There was also a tour guide dressed as a mountain man telling his story. I would say to stop here for sure. It's so well-done and the view from the museum is amazing!

I've never seen real stuffed horse! Very authentic displays and tons of information on the trail. We were only one of two couples in the place and we actually got to walk on the actual Oregon trail! Very cool place.

Outstanding history. With real momentos and trail living and mistakes. Equipment is athentic and adds to the time of really hard time for pioneers.

If you enjoy American History, this museum does an excellent job of walking you along the Oregon Trail, using interactive media and words from travelers along the trail to give you a sense of the hardships and joys faced along the trail.

This is out of the way but so informative. Lots of history to walk through in this amazing center, much bigger than it would seem. Overlooks part of the original train.

The most amazing view of the wagon-rutted Oregon Trail as it twists down into the Baker Valley. Interesting displays in the gallery and performances in the theater, but the banners featuring excerpts from pioneer journals will stun you. This is a kid-friendly museum with bigger-than-life-size dioramas and interactive features that kids love. A bonus is the hiking trail through the restored native landscape to the actual roads made by the wagons moving west--- and your dog can walk with you, too!

interesting, you could spend an hour, or all day. We spent two hours and it really made you imagine what it was like coming over that trail in a wagon.

After many years of not stopping to explore this center we finally found the time. (Seems like we always had to get somewhere fast.) We realized we should have stopped much earlier. The center is very informative and the real life displays are just. amazing.
