When we visited the vines were dormant and the sheep had the run of the vineyard. The owner says they do a good job of trimming the vines and keeping the grass down too.The tasting room is in the barn which has been converted for this use yet is still rustic.A good selection of wines to choose from and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable.Better take in a jacket though, its cold in there even though it was a nice sunny February day.
This locally winery is ran by the nicest, hands on couple. They have free music every week which is a nice way to wind down after work. Its especially nice to sit outside by the barn on a summers evening. The wine is good, especially the rose.
We went for a great Blackberry wine and this tasting room had just what we needed...great wine and friendly staff.
We enjoy going to small private wineries - this farm had a good idea with outdoor Friday night bands and catered dinner...(yet, we weren't there for a Friday night) The wine was ok- and we did enjoy having a picnic out in the yard.
We went there to listen to music. We went on Memorial Day week-end. They offer food on Friday evenings plus music for your entertainment. Their Pinot Gris was excellent. The setting is beautiful. Check out their website. We are going this week end to begin our celebration of our 20th Anniversary. You can either buy their food or bring a picnic dinner. It is a great place to visit.
At Saginaw Vineyard, you can have a nice glass of wine, a little food, and listen to some pleasant live music. The pinot noir is excellent and reasonably priced. This is a place which exists in the very truth of the State of Oregon. You cannot help but feel at home here. It is quiet, peaceful, and calm. If this is not the center of tranquility in America, I would like to know what is.
Simple, warm tasting room and very nice owner. They have fantastic Marechal Foch. Fridays are live music and Sundays they serve crapes. Will be back.
We stopped here because we needed to buy some Oregon wine for our snobby wine friends(we live near Napa/Sonoma Wine country). This place was delightful, cheery and very welcoming. When you first pull up in the driveway you are greeted by a wonderful ,old red barn, and various animals. Bought several bottles of wine (after a bit of tasting). Too bad we weren't there on a Fri. night, sounds like fun!
We were fortunate enough to be in Cottage Grove on a Friday night, and heard that they had live music and wine tastings. It was a beautiful night, so the band was on the back porch of the barn and everyone was sitting around drinking wine, dancing and enjoying the great music. It was a very cool vibe and I got the feeling it was mostly a local crowd. They had wine for sale by the glass or bottle and were offering tastings. I tried several (which were all good) before settling on the Blackberry - yum! The tasting room is in the barn and very cozy. On Sundays, they also offer several different types of crepes (both sweet and savory) as well as live music from noon until 4pm. The vineyard is conveniently located only a mile from the highway. A great place to spend some time!
We enjoyed a complimentary tasting and then bought a few bottles, opened one and had some of their tasty crepes to enjoy while listening to music outside on their picnic grounds. It was a nice way to spend some time on a Sunday afternoon.
Saginaw winery was just off the highway coming into Eugene. Didn't have much time, so ti was a quick trip. It was a Friday afternoon so they were having a party on grounds (band, food & wine tasting).Staff was very friendly, informative. Able to but several wines to take to dinner that evening.
Saginaw Vineyard puts on a fun evening on Friday Night with a catered dinner you can purchase or you can bring your own. There is live music and dancing and family fun for all. We especially like their Blackberry wine.
Saginaw Vineyard is low key, very friendly and a relaxed way to sample and enjoy local wines. Their wine club is a great deal. Friday night music is always on in the lovely old barn that serves as their tasting room. During the Summer it all moves outside, bring a picnic or buy a yummy barbecued meal. It's become a favorite way to start the w/e.
We loved the small quaint feel. The wines were great. A nice family run place run by a married couple. The tastes were free and we got to taste many wines. I liked the Pinots the best.
This place is in the middle of nowhere but is open most days, including weekends. I believe it is run by a couple. The tastings are FREE and generous. Do yourself a favor and buy at least a bottle of your favorite (We always buy a case). The wines do NOT have bar codes so are only available at very limited locations.
