My husband threw me a surprise birthday party and it was the best day ever! The weather was perfect, the back patio was ideal for an event with about 20-25 people. Slava is amazing and his attention to service was A+We had visited 2 times in the last 3 months and brought friends with us, he remembered us and which wines were our favorites. I can't forget to mention how impressive the grounds are, when driving up you seriously think you are heading to Italy. The view, the landscape, the tasting room, cellar.....all very special. Try the Chardonnay!!! You will not be disappointed.

Domaine Serene is simply the best there is in Oregon. The wine variety is outstanding and it is all truly crafted with skill and brilliance! The property is magnificent! GORGEOUS grounds and fantastic staff! Wonderfully warm and inviting tasting room. If you are visiting Wine Country - this is a MUST VISIT destination. Be ready to buy a few cases to send home. You won't be sorry. Absolutely delicious choices! Can't wait to go back.......

Domaine Serene was our first stop on a getaway weekend in the Williamette Valley! We had scheduled a private tasting to start our day. I can't say enough positives about the wines, the ambience and the staff. Sadie was our wine guide and totally impressed with her passion and knowledge of the wines. We have enjoyed Domaine Serene Pinots for several years and made this a must stop and it didn't disappoint. The grounds are beautiful. A large beautiful fireplace is the focal point of the tasting room and a great place to have a glass of wine and relax after choosing your favorite wine (good luck with that). We enjoyed it so much that we made it our last stop as well and were treated like old friends.

Firstly, beautiful surroundings with fabulous views - just what a vineyard should have. The tasting room was very busy when we arrived so there was little chance of any real communication with the people conducting the wine tasting. The price for the taste and pours was rather high and sadly there was nothing that really grabbed us and stimulated us to buy. We did not have the opportunity to discuss any of the wines with anyone and the wine was just poured out and we were left to our own devices. Perhaps it was because it was busy the staff did not seem unduly eager to engage with us, so feeling somewhat less than enthusiastic we departed, not having purchased any. Go for the views and make sure you go for a 'private tasting' if you are really keen on the wines they produce. Do your homework before you go and make sure you know what they produce or you could waste a trip.

Wish there was a poor to average - that is what I would rate this experience. We were on our way from the coast to Portland and decided to stop at couple of wineries. Domaine Serene was listed as "commanding views" - my fiance is a photographer so we decided to try it. The tasting room and villa, as well as, the grounds are beautiful but the tastings $20 and $40 are pricey and the pours are very skimpy. I say this not because I like to go and drink up but because you truly could not get the full taste of the wine with what they pour. There was one "private tasting" going on at a table and only us and one other couple at the tasting bar - the attendant was less than friendly and only answered our questions when we asked (meaning she offered very little information) bordering on rude. I left feeling cheated out of $20 and a blah experience - not at all like the drive in or walk up to the tasting room. Wines are good but pricey (IMHO). We had come from Temecula and 3-days in Napa with a private tasting at Jarvis - so their 2010 Spectator award - well - did not impress us. We moved on to Skolor and really enjoyed the wines, the attendant, the views and service!

Our driver, who also happens to be a wine merchant in a near-by town, conducted our tasting with the expertise of a D.S. staff member. We sat at a table outside on a back patio, with a view of the sweeping vista of vineyards, orchards, and just gorgeous pastoral countryside. The wines were good, though non stimulated members of our group enough to place orders. Worth coming here just for a tasting while taking in the view.

Domaine Serene is a beautiful winery property. The tasting room does get busy so plan accordingly. $20 or $40 is a bit pricey for the pours and they are still living off the 2010 Spectator award. Time to move on. Staff was very attentive and knowledgable. However, I felt the wines were a bit over priced compared to other WV Pinot's.

It was very busy but we didn't mind as this was out time for relaxing and sampling some of Domaine Serene's wines. This was by far the most expensive tasting -- estate flight $40 for 6 wines (rose, reserve chardonnay, cuvee pinot noir, reserve pinot noir, two barns pinot noir & grand cheval). Also included was a sensory pairing of fruit, cheese & chocolate. You only do this once. Very good wines.

What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay in Oregon wine country! Our private villa had two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a spectacular porch, four bottles of Domaine Serene's finest and all immediately next to the hill-top wine facility right in the middle of the vineyard. Clean and inviting, a perfect base to spend four days. The private tasting and staff were awesome too.

We arrived one hour early for private tour and tasting. Friendly greeting. We're shown where we needed to be in one hour for the seated tasting. Sat on the patio, nice scenic view. Unfortunately a large loud party of drunk people (45 - 55 years old) arrived and spoiled the serene setting. Also, one of the servers was trying to rush us of to seat (gasp) a family with two small children with only one person drinking. Semi-private Seated wine tasting is the only way to go. You can hear all about the history and taste their wines with other tasters (versus the bar scene above). Nice mastodon art.

As soon as you drive through the gates, you realize you are in for an amazing experience! The grounds are manicured, the building a vineyards are stunning. We had a private tour of the winery, with a guide that was very capable. At the end of the tour, we were excorted into a private tasting room, with 5 delicious wines to taste. The table was set with linens, and there was chocolate, cheese and dried blueberries to complement the wines. An extraordinary experience!

We had wonderful service at this "Tuscan" villa on the hill thanks to Olga and her knowledge of the wineries history and the varietals we were tasting. We would recommend to friends. There is a fantastic lawn and patio to hideout for a while. Plus, there is a giant woolly mammoth sculpture!

Smug tasting room attendant, impersonal atmosphere. We've tasted wines in tasting rooms all over the west coast and other regions. Never has a winery caused us to feel as snubbed as in the case of this visit to Domaine Serene. On presenting a complimentary tasting card (from our McMinnville B&B), the pouring attendant assumed a cold posture, cursorily describing our first selection and adding, "I don't know what you'll get from it." We took a sip, looked at each other, and departed--not saying goodbye, because Ms. Personality had left us alone at this point. What an atmosphere of arrogance. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The facility is beautiful as well as the grounds. Plenty of stations for wine tastings. The staff was very helpful. The wine was fabulous and kept verifying our new love for Oregon Pinot Noir! Could have stayed longer, but trying to get to several more spots.

We had the pleasure of spending some time at Domaine Serene with Lucas Willet as our guide. What a wonderful experience. Lucas is the most gracious host, caring, extremely knowledgable, and fun. Thank you, Lucas! He took us on a tour of the facility and grounds and treated us to a lovely outdoor tasting that was just perfect. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed looking over the vineyards. We also were invited to share in their July 5 celebration complete with fireworks, food, wine, and a live band. There were activities for children as well. We were introduced to owners Ken and Grace Evenstad, who are lovely and generous people. We were also lucky to see Luis Reyneri who is the SE Region sales rep and who originally introduced us to Domaine Serene in Atlanta. Thank you Luis! The winery location is just breathtaking and the wines are fabulous. Just a wonderful experience made special due to the people involved. It was the highlight of our visit to the beautiful Willamette Valley.
