The Taphouse happens to be just around the corner from my house, so we try and frequent it as often as possible. The atmosphere itself isn't anything to write home about. Often times, they have no music or any sound of any sort playing. It's just the roar of the crowd. They always have a great selection of beers, some ciders and wines (red and white). They offer free samples to find the right drink for you and have good prices. They aren't prices that you'll go out of your way for, but they're fair. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well. They serve no food inside, but offer services from local restaurants or food carts, both of which have great choices. This place is awesome and one of my favorite local bars to hit up any time!!
My sisters and I went in to watch a football game. We had a great time and even played Yatzee (they have a stash of fun table games). I had a taster tray of 6. I really like how you can order from the food truck nearby. Plus, the people are super nice!
I went into the Taphouse 2 weeks after it opened. The selection was great craft brews and excellent service. But what caught my eye was the big screen TV with all the selections. Not only does it give info of each beer, but it also has a picture of a keg and how much is left in that keg before they change it out. That's ingenius!! I'm going back Friday night to watch the Costa Rica vs. USA World Cup Qualifier. Hope they still have Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Wild and Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale on tap. Two highly rated beers on my rate meter.Nice job gang!!
My wife and I have been out of the country for a couple of months so missed the opportunity to visit the Taproom until now. However we had high expectations, this is exactly what the Orenco area needs. 20 draft beers and within a mile of home. Wow. Could not wait.Arrived on a hot summer afternoon and after having walked from home, we were really in need of that pint. Unfortunately unable to sit outside as the almost black picnic tables were so hot you could barely put your hand on them. Must admit were expecting smaller tables with colorful umbrellas. Never mind, inside will do.The bar was a single room, very minimalist with not a lot of decoration and the beer taps? Where were the traditional pump style with the wonderful plaques attached that show the beer you are getting? Never mind it is the beer that counts, but the 16 oz pour came in what appeared to be a brandy snifter. Now I have drunk beer in a lot of bars, in a lot of different countries and have never had it served in this type of glass before, and 16oz, I don't know. With that shape it could well have been, but the perception of those in the party was that it was not that amount. Of course my two sons do not have quite the same feelings as us. We have a different outlook than them, so maybe this is the wave of the future and we wish the proprietors the very best of luck. It is just not our style. The idea is great but the application seems to be aimed at a very different market segment than us.
